My thoughts on the Cowboys vs Tampa game:
I posted early in the season here in this thread how the low NFL ratings where a blessing in disguise for the Cowboys.
I mentioned how Cowboys success would bring up the ratings.
And sure enough, Cowboys are going to be coming on 5 consecutive prime time games.
These past games have reported record tv ratings.
I said early in the season how I thought Romo
would come back late in the season and make a super bowl run ala Payton Manning last year.
Recently Jerry Jones has been making some rather strange comments on how he wants Romo ready in case of a DAK injury. And Jerry has said in the past that his biggest failure as a general manager would be not getting Romo a ring.
While a DAK injury is possible because it's a physical sport, a poor performance by DAK is also possible. DAK may look bad against Tampa Bay coming up Sunday night. Cowboys might lose that game, and will get people questioning if Romo should start.
I see DAK starting against the Lions and putting up another mediocre performance. Romo takes over on that game and gets the Cowboys the W.
Then Jerry will get to see his boy Romo make his Super Bowl run.
On a side note:
"IF" the Cowboys make it to the Super Bowl or even the championship game.
I won't put it past the NFL to re-surface Zekes domestic violence allegations. Even tho it's been settled. I'm sure it will re-surface.
The NFL likes to do these types of things before the big game. They do this to get people talking about the game. It's pretty much free advertisement. And it establishes a villain. And creates drama to get people to watch, specially those who can care less about the teams playing.
Last year was Manning supposedly taking HGH.
Year before that was deflate gate.
But which ever teams make it to the Super Bowl, look out for some sort of controversy related to a player, coach or a team playing in the big game.
The NFL is a business. And they are in the entertainment business.
GO COWBOYS !!!!!!!!!
