Expectung a lopsided win for the Rockets tonight. Probably 2-2 after they split in Portland.

Dallas really smoked the Spurs tonight.

They say a series isn't really on until a road team wins.

Rockets in trouble...Alridge and Lillard both had huge nights again. Hardin disappeared again but expecting him still to be a factor in the series.

Rockets will be lucky if they make it back home for game 5. They are done.......no defense and freelance offense does not win in the playoffs....in any sport.

The Spurs handed that game to them - literally. 22 turnovers lead to 33 points. Disgusting. In the series, Manu is the only one who has shown up in both games. Duncan and Kawhi combined to take ten shots last night. That's a burn the tape game. Best of five series, now. If both teams play at their best, the Spurs win this easily. It just remains to be seen if either team can play their best.

various:
Rox were in trouble before the season (much less series) began.
Having no defensive option at PG is a killer.
Combining that with no defense at the 3 or 4 and you will really struggle to stop people.
Adding Howard was a big coup but they weren't very good last year and one player doesn't change that or Howard would have won with the Lakers.

Dallas, much like Rox, have no defense at PG plus the 4 and it will eventually kill them. In many ways SA will hate facing Dallas because the rivalry and coaching of Dallas makes it a tougher out.

San Antonio is vastly overrated. They are mentally tough and have a lot of pieces but they are simply not as good as OKC/Miami. Neither Parker nor Mills play any defense.

Miami has so much of its talent wrapped up in the big 3 that any injury or foul issues can derail them.
But if all 3 are playing they will win... again

Pacers... Lance Stephenson needs a spanking. All that said I hope he ends up with the Mavs on a Monta Ellis contract.
Carlisle can reach a kid like Stephenson and the effort will probably be worth it because the talent is outstanding.

Love the team Memphis has put together but they need another scorer. Hard to beat teams 4 times with that offense. They are like the 80s Pistons that need to add Aguirre. A 5th/6th man pure scorer. See above about Lance....

NBA fans inevitably get too wrapped up in regular seasons. The playoffs are a different game. Enjoy because it is as close to watching a war as you can get without lives lost.

Reality is the Mavs have played the Spurs off the floor all but the final 7 minutes of game 1. Spurs were a dominant regular season team but need answers in the playoffs. Pop is a genius and likely finds those answers but the Spurs have fallen out of the playoffs with a whimper before in situations like this. Dallas is a bad defensive team and if you can't consistently get to 100 versus them you are probably going to lose the series because Dallas has 7 offensive weapons.

Age catches up to you eventually. The Spurs just look old to me. Manu better shoot lights out because his defense on the pick and roll has been atrocious. Danny Greene was on his way to being the finals MVP until the Heat stop double teaming off of him. You have to make the aging big three score all the points and force them to play defense. I could be wrong but I just don't think they can carry that type of load in the playoffs anymore.

So much for that 4-0 sweep some (not all) Spurs fans were predicting.
Gm1: Dallas had a 10 pt lead before coughing it up late in the 4th.
Gm2: This time, it was a 21 pt Mavs win

The Spurs are still the series favorite though

so much for my sweep prediction....the Spurs have played like a bunch of scrubs the last two games.....luckily so did Dallas in the 4th quarter of game 1.

Our defense is garbage. We can't seem to make a jump shot, except for Manu. We are turnover prone. We miss way too many FTs. We are forcing too many passes instead of letting them come within the flow of the offense. We are letting freakin Harris, Calderon, and Blair beat us (PATHETIC).

If we don't get our heads out of our backsides and get back to playing real basketball, we are going to end up coming back to SA down 3-1, instead of up 3-1.

The Wizards will make the Eastern Conference finals. They will beat the Bulls because the Bulls cannot defend Nene without allowing Wall and Beal to go off. And they will beat whoever makes it out of the Indiana/Atlanta series.

Book it.

I can see that happening. It says more about how pathetic the East is than how good the Wizards are. The Rockets would win the East and they're probably gonna get swept by the Blazers.

Is it possible with Pop resting guys so much, they get a little out of sync? They can play their way into form as the playoffs progress but I wonder if they don't suffer a little getting all these pieces together that they haven't been playing with.

Anyway, I'm an OKC fan and they just can't get going. It's not all Memphis, either... They're just missing.

As incredible a player and talent as Durant is, he just does not handle physical play very well. When someone like Allen gets rough with him, he doesn't fight to get open enough and he almost looks like he gets discouraged at times. I don't care what Allen does, he should be able to just shoot over the top of him. He almost needs to play more angry.
