It doesn't sound like something Dez Bryant would do, in my opinion. Not in his character.

No, I pay attention. You don't.

Tell me the last elite receiver to win a championship.

AND HE'S HERE THE NEXT TWO YEARS. WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

He does not HAVE to play...what part about that do you not understand? Did Joey Galloway suit up for Seattle when faced with a similar situation?

The local reporters here in DFW hang around these guys and their buddies all the time. They play in celebrity baseball games together and all sorts of other interactions. Almost all of those reporters think he has money issues to the point that he is highly unlikely to miss a 750K game check.

These issues gets discussed ad nauseam on local sports talk radio but never make it to the internet because it's not really the type of thing that a reporter will put in print unless they are Ed Werder. If it was one guy saying it then it would be meaningless, but it's the majority of the reporters that are on local sports talk radio which is almost all of them now.

Ahhh so just speculation spouted as fact here on the zone.

Par for the course.

Last time I talked to him was about 5 years ago...

Yeah haven't heard that name around these parts in a looooong time. Maybe Werder's "associates" had him silenced. :lmao:

The team is done without Dez. I have no faith in the other WR's. If he starts sitting out games, it's time to start looking to replace him.

Dez actually does have a little bit more leverage on Jerry with this tactic than some want to admit, and it's not about Dez. It's about Romo's and Jerry's window and all the other pieces that have been brought in to seriously contend over the next 3-4 years. I think we all know that if Stephen weren't handling this to a significant degree, Jerry would have already made it rain, and probably wants to so bad.

Does that really matter when he really has no choice other than forfeiting 750K per week and still being in the same position next year?

That post is a little out of context haha. I posted it in one of the many merged threads.

Stay strong, Jerruh, stay strong..!!

Missing the start of training camp and even an exhibition game or two is no big deal. I don't think he will bring it into the regular season, where he loses game checks

It appears that his agent called Ed Werder and gave him this info. The agent/player would be stupid not to threaten to hold out at this point; however, once the July 15th deadline has passed, Dez has zero to gain and could lose by missing camp or games. If his stats decline this season, that only hurts him next year in contract negations.

It's not as if the Cowboys are not offering him a contract. It is his choice if he declines the offer.

THIS. He wants to sit out his age 26 year go right ahead. We finally have some cap discipline with Stephen, don't ruin it for a WR (as good as he is.) I want my team to win but Dez has no leverage here. He's not getting Megatron money, nor should he. That's what he wants to approach but he's not Calvin and Detroit way overpaid anyway.
