What does this even mean? The franchise tag is in the CBA. How is Dez Bryant going to take on the league over the tag? You think the other 31 owners feel an ounce of sympathy for Dallas' predicament? (well maybe Denver does )Keep in mind, the NFLPA hates the franchise tag.
And the NFLPA has money.
Dez could be taken care of if he agrees to take the league on over the tag.
an actual holdout is no longer business but petulant.
Dez Bryant is no longer the honorable soldier fighting on our side. After the threats to sit out games he is a terrorist, endangering the entire season for everyone in Cowboy Nation. No matter how this turns out, I will not welcome him back. I hope he never gets his deal from us. He is cancer.

Most importantly, what planet are you living on that you think the NFLPA is going to give Dez Bryant tens of millions of dollars to hold out??
Overreact much?
...huh???
You could just flip it and say the FO is the same thing. Why does Dez have to accept whatever they offer?
What he means is, Dallas isn't allowed to sign Dez long term after tomorrow. So a holdout is essentially pointless in that regard.
In fact he doesn't. He can negotiate another deal with any other team, so long as that team is willing to pay for him.
Right, he doesn't. And he shouldn't be expected to, and if he doesn't be accused of being a "cancer" and not a team player.
And neither of them get Calvin Johnson money.
Sorry, but the average player salary will stay the same. The only way to increase the average player salary is to increase the cap, not increase the money you give to a superstar (because for every extra dollar you give a superstar, that's one less dollar you have available for someone else). It's the biggest regret the union has. By controlling what the elite players make, it's controlling what the average veteran makes.
Hardy was in a unique situation as a highly talented player and a UFA but, due to circumstances, only wanted a 1-year deal.Players are going to start doing like Hardy and insist that a clause is in their contract that prohibits the franchise tag. Dallas agreed to this with Hardy.
Well, good luck getting Dez Bryant to be happy living off a meager stipend coming from the NFLPA.And the union won't give him millions, but they can certainly help.
No they won't. As I stated before, well over half the league makes less than the average salary. Those guys are not interested in making any major concessions for the top 1% of players.Players will support this if it helps to cripple the franchise play teams make.
The offer he has on the table is not a bad deal.
Overreact much?
I'd disagree. It can't get him a new deal, but it can still prove a point. And when we see the offense without Dez...he will get his money in the off-season.
Enjoy getting an other hopeful season ruined by one selfish person much?
According to who, and what is the offer, by the way?
It isn't about what's an "ok" deal.
What other season was ruined by one selfish person?
You are taking all this too personally. This is just business.
