so would *every* killing in self defense have to go to trial?

why shouldn't it, if there are no witnesses, then all you have to say to get away with killing someone is "oh it is self defence" and by definition no trial as there is no evidence against it because the person is dead.

at least test the theory under oath.

Speaking on the copyright thing. As distasteful as it is, I understand why they're doing it.

There are already scumsuckers out there trying to make money off of this. People have been peddling t-shirts, putting his face and name on flyers for crappy parties.

With none of the proceeds to cover any of the legal fees associated with this stuff.

Let the facts come out in court before forming a opinion on this.

There are reasons why he wasnt arrested when the incident occured and regardless of what the mediots,sharpton and jackson proclaim it dosnt have anything to do with race.

perhaps not but do you think a black man of Zimmerman's size and age who shot a white teenager like Trayvvon would have been let go without charge?

Been out of the loop from this depressing story for a couple of days.
Old news I'm sure, but I just saw the more recent Facebook photos of Trayvon....wow. I can see why his parents would want a much more pleasant photo of him released--even if it barely resembles how the kid looked more recently.

My first thought was manipulation b/c they are so different, but on second thought, I gues they just wanted him looking nice.
I do find it disturbing that Obama, after looking at the original photo of him maybe 3-4 years afo, said that if he had a son that would be what he would look like.

In the end, like everyone else, I hope they get the story right and if prosectution is required, that it is done.

The same thing is being done to Zimmerman. His mug shot is the one being used by majority of the media, where as there is a more recent photo that must not look as menacing as the older one...

Now please don't take this as some plea for Zimmerman. This is just my anger against the twist that media uses in certain cases.

Not everyone agreed that there wasn't enough evidence to arrest and charge Zimmerman with something. Don't know what this means, but again it does look like in my eyes that the SPD or whoever was just one sided to Zimmerman's POV and ignores anyone who contradicts his view.

and SPD didn't mishandle it. they're just not letting the public be the judge/jury. that seems to make a lot of people mad cause they have to wait for info, but they should NOT just start releasing info to make the mob happy and go against their own process.

But the public has already decided the case...the mob will only be satisfied now if GZ gets the death penalty. Anything else, all bets are off.

People just can't accept that there may be more to this than we already know.

This kinda hits me hard. This guy was my age and was killed for absolutely no reason. He deserves some justice.

He already got justice. That's why you dont go around jumping people. You never know who has a gun.

W/O even clicking the link i know its the elderly couple from tulsa which is right down the highway.
Just thinking about this makes my stomach turn and i hope the culprit is taken to remote area and beaten to death with an aluminum bat.

I guess this dosnt fit in line with the medias thinking.....
