Word on the street today is Dwight's agent has called the Lakers and told them it's their move, and they're ready to get a deal done.

Also, CP3s agent has notified the Hornets that he will not re-sign with New Orleans, and wants to be traded to the Knicks, for those naysayers above.

CP3 and Dwight have talked a lot over the summer and specifically about playing together according to the reports I have read of late. I honestly didn't think that there was any way the Lakers could get both players but maybe they can. I don't know.

No way.

Orlando and NO aren't looking to bend over.

Unfortunately for them, they don't have much leverage.

Have not heard this, but I'm not complaining!

Yea they do. They have the player under contract for this season. The players want to be traded to a desireable destination to maximize their salary.

New Orleans wants Pau Gasol why again?

What is Orlando going to do with a worn down disgruntled Andrew Bynum and no cap room?

The Lakers can get one of them but Orl/NOH aren't rolling over. Ther are plenty of other teams on the phone

Because he's one of the best power forwards in the game. #2 behind Dirk.

Also how is Bynum worn down? He's been healthy for almost a year now. Last time he suffered a serious injury was in March 2010. He missed 15 games then he came back and had surgery in the offseason. Because of the surgery he had to miss the first month of last season. Since then he's been healthy. I think his injury issues are a thing of the past. Bynum will miss the first 5 games of the season, but it's because of suspension not injury.

All of that is stuff I've heard today.

I have a friend in Los Angeles that I met thru my aunt that is fairly close to the Laker organization. Texted him today, and he said that it's going to happen as long as the Lakers can meet Orlando's needs. Granted him saying he's "close" to the organization would be like me saying I'm "close" to the Cowboys organization...it could be complete and utter BS.

BUT, I did hear on the radio today about the other stuff -- Dwight's agent has contacted Magic/Lakers officials and said he's ready to do business, and CP3 has definitely notified the Hornets he will not sign an extension and has demanded a trade to NY. He has also stated that he will not sign an extension in Boston if he's traded to the Celtics -- this one got shot down earlier today though, because the Celtics can't move Rondo. Nobody wants him.

Gasol Is 31 and making a ton of $. That does nothing for them. Put yourself in their shoes. This is silly.

It does nothing for them? It gives them an all star. They lose an all star but they get an all star in return.

They already had a top 3 super-star PG in his prime and were floundering as a franchise. They downgrade to a 31 year old, non-ticket selling PF. They get worse and no picks, young players, or cap relief.

OKC or Boston would step up and make a better deal in a heartbeat.

CP3 doesn't wanna go to Boston and I doubt CP3 would wanna go to a small market like OKC.

Who are they gonna trade for him? The Knicks don't have any trading pieces. Only way is for him to take a huge pay cut. Not sure he's gonna do that.

3rd team will have to get involved..OR he will just go there as a FA in the offseason..knicks let go of Tony Douglas next year and they can pay CP3 close to the max

What is a 3rd team gonna do, give the knicks free assets?

I think it's 60% Paul agrees to an okc/bos trade/extension.
40% he signs with knicks as a FA.

I'd rather let him walk as a FA then hand him to his cohorts for nothing. You want to conspire to team together while being paid by us, then go. And take $40m less then what OKC could offer you.
