Also, you should get DirecTV. You need to help the NFL stick it to the man. The cable companies are playing hardball by grabbing you by the short and curlies with their magical "bundle". If people strike back, the cable companies will submit to lord football. If they holler, but take no action, the cable companies do not care.

:lmao2: oh the imagery

Try going to a local sportsbar that has DirecTV.

FWIW, I absolutely love NFL Network... NFL Replay has become must-see TV in my house. My 5 year old son sings the theme song constantly.

The dream of football 7 nights a week is finally almost a reality!!!

"But you missed 85 and there´s nothing you can do"

Can´t get it out of my head.

The cable companies are playing victim here, but this is honestly the first time they have a marketable product with demand and they now are forced to give something back to the networks they carry because of it.

They are frightened and for good reason. I do like the rhetoric. This is one of the fastest growing, if not the fastest in history, but their reasoning for their hesitation is "they are not a top network". Since they are less than five years old, I would not think they would be.

It is nothing but a staring contest.

It is up to the football fan who wins.

Luckily, I stopped playing the cable companies game a long time ago. I used to believe the scare tactics about no signal and so on, but I have had better service with the dish for quite some time.

I like the NFL Network, but I could not live without Sunday Ticket.

Word. It's indispensible. I saw so much football yesterday when the Cowboys weren't playing. You can see so much when you use two TVs and just flip whenever a play isn't going and you have four fantasy teams. Awesome....

If that ever happens, the cheerleaders better be naked. And cold.

But...but...the cable companies are supporting the poor and common man by bundling Lifetime, CSPAN, Oh!, and WE networks in their basic packages for only $50 per month for 72 channels...and by fighting the evil NFL.

People should strike back and force the cable companies to drop useless networks. How about some choices in the basic package?

The problem is that we live in the Prozac society where people live on the straight and narrow. No one complains about lousy service anymore, except for me.

That is exactly what it is. There are far more cable subscribers in the United States who do not want their cable bills to raise just for 1 channel that football fans want due to a supply/demand the NFL created by hording games to themselves.

They wont be able to keep all the games due to the lucrative contracts Fox, ESPN and NBC pay to broadcast so they only have limited supply.

The cable networks are pretty firm right now on their stance and they are not listening to the football fans otherwise it would already be on the basic tier.

Ask the cable companies that shove that garbage down people's throats, but yet can't pick up a channel that people actually want.

Ahhh...but if you, the consumer would strike back and install a dish (for which installation is free), then the cable companies would be licking your toes to come back to them...with the NFL Network on the basic tier.

The NFL is actually doing cable subscribers a favor. Once you change to a satellite company, the only question will be why you stuck with that craptastic cable for as long as you did. ;)

And BTW, in my area cable internet is only $10 more as a standalone product than it is when bundled with the TV service. A dish will save you more than that, and be a better product as well.

Listen I am just really ticked off.

The NFL said get the NFL network to see the 8 games they have and one of them was a Dallas Game. So I got it.

Then they change the contract the week of the start of those games.

I have been paying for the NFL network for 4 months. I have the NFL network and they will not show me the games they promised.

They owe me 4 months of service IMO.

I wanted football - so cable went - directv came. I hated stock radio, so radio went, satellite radio in. There are a few who understand that there are choices out there. And as more do, the services will cater more to the consumer. I really don't think people should complain (no offense rex) about getting screwed by the cable companies. You have a choice.

The cable companies make themselves attractive with their stupid packages, but you can save money through a phone company with DSL and phone service bundled, maybe even cell service too. So, the cable companies get to keep giving you **** for service, and screwing you out of your football.

Don't take it lying down.

The cable company is not screwing me the NFL network is. They changed the terms of their contract and are no longer providing what I paid them to provide. This is where I am getting screwed.
