Yep - just broke on ESPN with Scott Van Pelt.

The NFL's boat is leaking and just like the Titanic, the Zeke suspension will sink under its own weight.

Update: Schefter was just on and said the NFLPA in it's filing is accusing the league of engaging in a conspiracy.

Wow - pretty strong words.

I've always thought the "L" in NFL stood for League. But I'm starting to believe it stands for Lynchmob.

Nothing gives the "right" to conspiracy to withhold testimony and evidence. Nothing to negotiate.

Zeke wants the suspension gone and his name cleared, if Henderson does that, this goes away. There's nothing to sue for.

I agree but the league likely doesn't. They feel they can do whatever they want and in the right courthouse, they might be right. Henderson is not vacating the suspension without any behind the scenes negotiating in which Zeke agrees not to sue for anything including defamation.

You can tell yourself that if you'd like. The NFL has nothing to bargain with at this point.

Article 46 is not a blanket clause that allows evidence to be concealed. A first year law student could get this thrown out.

That would seem to be a common sense opinion but the league believes it does actually gives them the right to do it if they want to. How else do you explain the fact that they did it? The problem is that with the right judge, they may be proven right.

Of course they do. You don't think Zeke would accept a vacated suspension and full retraction of all statements that inferred he beat on a woman?

Defamation is round 2 of this boxing match.

Round 1 is the conspiracy.........

This is McGregor ( NFL) we will knock you out quick, vs Merryweather ( Zeke's team) . Zekes team - OK , throw your best, we will defend and go for the TKO based on your poor prep.........

Totally victory and exoneration? Of course. That's surrender, not negotiating.

People still dont think this was a Mara/Friel NY Giants conspiracy with Goodell complicit in it. This is all purely political crap that got an innocent mans name tarnished. All because they dont like Jerry.
This is it in a nutshell, The hate for the Cowboy's is real people from the owner to the fan's. Where is the league office located ?

How would Friel face jail time? She's opened herself up to civil action, sure, but what criminal action was done?

Only thing missing from this story is video footage of Roger betting against Dallas.

While I don't think gambling was the motive, it wouldn't surprise me much to wake up tomorrow and read that the Feds are investigating this matter. Too much money rides on the outcomes of these games and there's too much that stinks here going all the way back to Dan Patrick's source (weeks before the suspension) who told him this was being driven by rival owners. Plus, it's a high profile case. Actually nothing would surprise me now.

I've been saying something similar for a while. Until this is cleared up and I mean a full investigation of all NFL office personnel, owners and the referring...All legal sportsbooks (online and brick and mortar) should be banned from allowing NFL bets. Collusion, cover ups and unfair practices will be the cause. Once a federal judge files this injunction, the league will have no choice but to clean up it's act Would love to see the Mara/Friel connection exposed.

Not if you are the league and don't want to face a civil lawsuit where everyone will be disposed and all documents and emails regarding the investigation will be supoeanad. If you can secure yourself against that, you negotiated.
