Maybe I didn't follow Deflate Gate closely enough, but it sure seems like the Zeke case has greatly surpassed the Patriot's dealing with the NFL. I would love to see polling data on the way the NFL is handling this current case... It just seems as though the NFL is really losing the PR battle. And, yes, I realize that can change in a heartbeat

Loving all of this information and the research that goes into it, but, does anyone know of a twitter-to-English dictionary out there? Hard times reading some of these twitter info.

They'll tip his office off about the nonsense the NFL does to try to win their case. I'd be willing to bet that Zeke's legal team has someone in their office on retainer, ready to receive a date timed fax or phone call at a moment's notice to receive legal docs. As long as Kessler did his research that helps them anticipate the NFL's next move, shouldn't be a problem.

This has to be costing Zeke a fortune. I'd pay it too though if I were him to clear my good name. And that's why I say he should go after Goodell, who makes > $40M a year. He should seek punitive damages of at least $100M to offset his legal costs, any lost signing bonus pay, any current and future endorsements the stigma of "woman beater" will bring, how the American public will forever look at him - even after he wins this case, etc.
To be quite honest he should sue TT for 100 million. Tell the truth and I drop the suit. At the end of the day Jerry is paying the legal bill. I have no doubt about that.
Kessler and his team is being paid by the NFLPA

Yes, any Patriots fan pointing out to DeflateGate as being an equal to what is happening to EE is a moronic fanboy.

The problem with DeflateGate was it was shoddily done and didn't need to be if they had some sort of competence. In fact, I will argue that because it was so shoddily done, I believe that Goodell and company didn't take it seriously at first. Thus, I don't think they were set to railroad Brady at first. It wasn't until Brady destroyed his phone that they set out to railroad him.

With EE this has been a mission to railroad him from the get-go. I believe they extended this investigation solely to dig up any more possible information and to see if EE screwed up again. Then he did with the St. Paddy's Day incident. But to me the St. Paddy's Day incident is so completely overblown with people claiming that is 'felonious assault' (it's not) and from watching the video you could see that EE and the girl knew each other and she wasn't upset about it and later on she has testified she didn't have a problem with it.

I think the St. Paddy's Day incident was a stupid and silly stunt. But, it's no worse than what Gronkowski has done, in particular making very awkward jokes about a certain sexual position on television to female reporters. That doesn't make the St. Paddy's day incident less stupid and something you shouldn't do...but you wonder where the outrage is over Gronk doing similar things.

And then we have Lisa Friel's place in all of this. She's never interviewed Thompson, yet her recommendation for suspension is heeded while Kia Roberts isn't even asked to give her advisement to Goodell. And the lying doctor who lied about being hospitalized so she wouldn't be deposed and Kessler being smart enough to hire a PI to prove she was lying...it tells me that Kessler knew exactly what was going on.

The thing about DeflateGate is that there were other independent scientists that reached the conclusion that the balls could have been deflated. There was legitimate evidence that pointed to the balls being deflated at Brady's request for money. And the Patriots lied with claiming that McNally was talking about his 'weight loss' when he was talking about being the 'deflator.'

Here we have EE who has never admitted to assaulting Thompson and Joe Lockhart claiming he has despite the transcripts saying otherwise. And we have an accuser who has been caught in lies every step of the way by numerous witnesses, which include law enforcement. And she has claimed that she has a handful of witnesses to back her up and every single one of them (outside of her aunt) has stated the opposite of what she claims and has stated that they don't trust her because they saw her lie and behave as such.

This should be the judge's ruling on the competing motions today, "the arbitrator is an employee of the respondent NFL. If it were the intention of the arbitrator to vacate the suspension, the NFL would have no reason to file a motion to dismiss the petition because the vacation of the suspension would make the petition moot and be thereby dismissed anyway. Following this reasoning, the court can only conclude that the arbitrator's decision is already known to the NFL and his decision upholds the suspension. As such Mr Elliott meets his preliminary burden of potential irreparable harm and the court hereby grants his requested relief and denies NFL's motion. The court further places this matter on the docket for 60 days from this date to determine whether the temporary injunction granted on this date should be a permanent injunction pending further actions of the parties."

Wow, I oughta be the judge.

NFL is going to screw us if we don't get get an injunction. They'll wait till tomorrow to say he's suspended and then say he can't play Sunday.

Mara is getting impatient.

I am curious where this 4PM by today thing ever started to begin with? I always thought the league could suspend and rule on appeals right up until kick off.

If the nfl is saying that, I would think they made the nflpa's case for them at 5 pm.

I don't believe it's written anywhere but I read they typically rule by close of business on Tuesdays for the competitiveness of the game. Clearly the NFL doesn't care about that for Dallas week 1!

Yeah, Kessler can just say the threat to irreparable harm did not expire at 4:00pm.

Well that's why the NFL is being careful with their sources. Schefter is just a guy on twitter that works for ESPN...he's not a spokesperson for the NFL.

On the other hand, if a NFL employee like Ian's Rapaport came out with this, I think it's more relevant.

The new league week begins on Tuesdays at 4pm EST

This allows teams that play Monday Night the same opportunities as all the other teams

The league has always ruled that if a team wasn't notified by the start of the new league week then any suspension would take place the next week........ they couldn't tell DAL on Saturday that EE was ineligible..... that would be unfair to both teams

Well apparently the NFL doesn't seem to care here because they seem to leaking that it's not a given he can play this week even if the appeal is ruled on later.

Does DAL really want to vacate Henderson's ruling completely?

If he reduces it to 2 games that would be the new baseline.... not 6 games

If they vacate his award wouldn't they be going back to the original 6 games suspension to fight in Federal Court
