Article 46 was part of the last CBA

The new DV policy was not.... it was voted in by the owners but not approved by the NFLPA.... Goodell said he had the power to alter the Personal Conduct Policy without it being bargained

That could be another part of EE's case.......... the NFLPA didn't approve punishment without charges let alone a conviction..... this is what happens when institute knee-jerk policy responses to PR problems like the Ray Rice case

This is what I've been saying since Day 1. It's really murky and to say that the DV falls under Article 46 isn't potentially true.

To be quite honest he should sue TT for 100 million. Tell the truth and I drop the suit. At the end of the day Jerry is paying the legal bill. I have no doubt about that.

There is no money in winning a lawsuit from Tiffany Thompson. She isn't going to pay back $100 million working in bottle service.

There may be money involved with the Columbus DA's office. He switched his mind on the case and did so with apparently not investigating the matter and ignoring sworn affidavits. I would also assume that his opponent in the next election could point out how he basically screwed over a well respected alum based on no evidence and more importantly, evidence that supported EE and condemned TT.

Someone mentioned earlier in this thread or one of the others that this is like Game of Thrones. I'm starting to think more and more that this is and maybe never was really about DV at all, even for the PR aspect, but more about a power move within the NFL.
.

Would that make Kellen Moore our Tyrion Lannister?

I agree its all about a power move, the timing tells you everything they need to know. The incidents they are talking about happened over a year ago and they delivered the suspension just in time to guarantee that Zeke misses a game against the Giants. And they gave Zeke a six game suspension for something that is always two games to try to make sure that he was suspended for the Giants game even after the penalty was reduced.

And the fact that the NFL is willing to trample on the Tuesday deadline that has historically been followed just to insure Zeke misses game 1. They could have waited on the appeal ruling and said - okay, we missed the deadline so you can play game 1, but we will suspend you the next 6 games instead AND get our choice of forum (New York over Texas) after the judge throws out the TRO.

But instead they want both their choice of forum AND for him to miss game 1 at all costs. So they mess with long-standing tradition, which should further hurt them in the case, showing yet another unfair practice associated with this whole thing. Him playing game 1 then missing the next 6, then playing the last 9 would only matter to whoever we are playing that first game. I wonder who that is?

Pete Rose is suing John Dowd for his role in Pete's banishment from baseball...... well on deposition it comes out Rose was having sex with a minor back in the day..... his argument was that he thought she was 16 which was the legal age in Ohio....... she wasn't and he just got fired from FOX MLB coverage and may be subject to further charges

Suing is not always a good idea ......it is expensive and opens you up to all your faults

All this in the end is going to cost the NFL a lot of power. If you don't think the NFLPA is going to make this a major bargaining point in the next collective bargaining agreement, you haven' t been paying attention. The NFL will end up regretting their handling of the Elliott situation on many fronts.

Us fans will likely miss a lot of football as well.

Very interesting indeed. I wonder what this means when your lead investigator finds the accuser to be lacking credibility?

Means you delete her findings and do not invite her to critical meetings :)

Kessler to Goodell: Roger is that you?
