4. I really miss the days when I would watch the NFL all Sunday, the Sunday night game, the MNF game and then get my hands on anything I could with the NFL or read anything interesting. I loved bragging to people about how good the league was. This was back in 2006. But now I'm resorting to just watching Cowboys games because the league, quite frankly, appalls me.

You are not alone in this regard my friend.

On CNBC on Tuesday. I usually have this on most of the day, getting any tidbits on stocks.
But they were talking about this, and said more and more owners, maybe even half look to be siding with Jerry to wait until the league meetings later, or possibly even waiting until March to discuss this further.
All the financial analysts were defending Jerry as to why would they extend him now in the midst of falling ratings, and Goodell's approval rating to the public is around 50%.
Financially for the NFL it does not make sense to extend him at this time. Because of all the negativity going on right now.

one guy did try to defend Goodell, from the money standpoint of the TV contracts. He was shut down, but others saying, yes but that was in 2012 or whatever year they said. They said Goodell basically has done nothing the past 2 to 3 years.

How would they do that? Is there some legal way they can make him sell the team?

I suppose as the other guy said they'd keep the Cowboys out of the league until he did?

I don't know how any of that stuff would work.
Similar to how the NBA forced the former Clippers owner to sell. There are bylaws with the league agreement which could force the issue.

The Cowboys are a franchise within the league. And there are certain rules they must abide by. For example, if a McDonalds franchise owner in Texarcana Texas unilaterally decides to sell steaks, Chinese food, pizza and whale blubber from his store without permission from McDonald's, McDonalds can pull the franchise from the owner. Something similar would happen here

But there would be years, maybe decades of litigation before there would be a sale. It won't happen.

The letter simply says the NFL has already made the decision to extend and the compensation committee are getting it done. Jerry isnt entitled to mess with this decision and as a member of the "club" must abide by their decision making process.

In all fairness to Kraft, Jerry publicly backed Goodell during the whole deflate gate scandal. What’s happening here is that the other owners do not feel sorry for each other but only take it personally when it affects them. For example deflate gate didn’t affect the Cowboys so Jerry didn’t care about it hence his support for Goodell. So now that the shoe is on the other foot for Kraft, why should he care about Jerry? Zeke’s suspension has no bearing on Kraft so...

Again not true, per the Sports Illustrated article.. there were grumbling from multiple owners which forced Goodell to act and the cheating was already out on public and views within league office that Kraft and the Patriots get favoritism.

And cheating in a game affects its integrity, while a domestic violence charge doesn’t technically..

Doesn’t necessarily work, because Jerry was a de facto seventh member and the 32 league officials sending it to the committee were under this impression that he was involved in the negotiations..

Them claiming it’s done doesn’t make it so..

ANd there was nothing controversial in Jones comments regarding the anthem as far as the league is concerned, because it was their de facto position until recently.

Actually, they tried to claim Sterling was mentally senile, plus his wife was still part of the ownership so it was also contingent on her.

Additionally, Sterling made 2 billion dollars on an over-valued franchise and got tax benefits because of it. The NBA got to over-inflate it’s value through that sale.

Nothing like the Cowboys..

Well the Jarvis Landry video is out and he can be seen pushing his girlfriend into a car. He wasn’t punished and his investigation was over before it even started.

Get your popcorn ready...

And the NFL claimed insufficient evidence, and just like in the Ray Rice incident TMZ was able to get a video of the evidence, but the NFL supposedly couldn’t get that evidence..

Irrelevant.

There are rules within the NFL that could force a sale under the correct circumstances.

Another point people fail to realize:

Jerry also thinks the salaries of the NFL league office need review.

It’s not just the Commissioner, it’s the whole lot of lackies in the NFL office involved in decision making process, such as those related to Zeke.

The NBA forced the owner to sell when he didn't want to sell.

Sure he didn’t want 2 billion if you really think so.. and if he didn’t want to, none of that is applicable to Jones. They literally got two doctors to testify he was mentally unfit and the NBA still needed HIS WIFE on their side..
