***Official Other teams roster cuts thread***

Jeffcoat has absolutely no game whatsoever. He speed rushes the edge without NFL speed.

Jackson Jeffcoat is just not an NFL caliber player.
His getting cut in Seattle isn't the issue.
Not at this point anyways.
He really never dominated any level of football including high school.

If Michael Sam gets cut that is a different story. He has pass rush ability.
He's useful one more down per series than Jeffcoat.

Speed is always relative to reaction and technique. Applied, I wouldn't disregard a Private as a loader, because he can't yet vacuum load a main round...

Fair enough...

I don't get why they cut Copeland now instead of letting him get reps come Thursday vs Denver....unless they think they already know what they have and are trying to sneak him onto the practice squad. That kid busted balls @ LSU.

For better or worse, it looks like they weren't impressed by what they saw.

Just because he couldn't stick on the best Defense in football doesn't mean he couldn't start on the worst defense in football..

Well said. And that's the point I've been trying to make for a while in this thread and you've summed it up nicely.

And not limited to Jeffcoat either.

I would be looking at anyone and everyone released from the Seahawks on the defensive side of the ball.

I was glad at first when they signed him, and having Clutts on the team too. I thought they were more serious about keeping a FB for sure. But after Copeland wasn't making any noise, even in OTA's, I began to wonder what was goimng on. I'm all for him comimng onto the PS though.

The FB I wanted Dalls to draft in the 7th, was picked, Mallard. Can't remember by what team. But by not picking him, maybe they aren't all that serious about a FB. But I have know idea how Mallard is doing, or if he was worthy of a 7th round pick. But I'm glad the got the defensive players better.

Martez Wilson & J.C. Copeland released.
I'm surprised about Martin.

I had higher expectations for Wilson than what he showed based on some of the "hype" on him coming out of OTAs.

I should have known better ... and it's kind of the same with Crawford and Terrell McClain. Defensive linemen with a little quickness to their game look good when they can go wide or don't have to worry about an offensive lineman knocking the snot out of them.

Copeland was never in shape.
Even his biggest fan, LSU supporter Broaddus has admitted that.

They should keep Clutts again and perhaps Copeland makes his way to the PS.
He has pop and appeal but needs to get in shape and round out his game.

Has Clutts showed up this off season, more than Williams RB?

He was awful at Texas. Every single good team they played blew him off the ball like a junior high kid. Oklahoma made him look ridiculous.

I get that most fans would love a solid fullback on this team but I never understood the hype with JC Copeland. Never turned heads at LSU to receive the attention he gets on this board.

Let's try to keep the other teams roster cuts in this thread instead of multiple threads.

Kinda surprised to see Martez get the ax so quickly.

Any know off the top of their head what that leaves us with as far as D lineman currently on the roster?

From what I've heard, Wilson was very reluctant about being a DE. Sees himself as an OLB, so maybe he'll find another 3-4 team to stick on.
