Of course you ignored it because your post indicated the lower completion % was all on Dak making bad throws, and did not mention any other factor. That fits the definition of ignore exactly.

I'm not going to do a thorough breakdown on every factor involved on every given play for the entire 2nd half.

Ok, if he had a strong game then we, as a team, just arent good enough to beat mediocre teams like the Rams and brings into question whether we should strengthen the team rather than pay Dak the $40m.

Strong, but he's not elite, why spend $40m on a bus driver when we can pick one up much cheaper....possibly one that can overcome our ineffective O-Line.

Why isn't Dak an excuse for the O-Line & defense? Why is that a one way street? Is it because it doesn't fit your narrative to look at all angles?

Clearly, and unquestionably, wins and losses, are not only about the QB. But it apparently doesn't support the right narrative to acknowledge that.

A fair minded person would accept that the QB bears a portion of the blame, but not all of it, as if no other position, player or factor matters.

As for the money, that's a separate issue that doesn't justify ignoring the realities of an individual game. You can't reasonably say "I don't think he's worth a big contract, so I'm going to pretend he is the root of everything that doesn't go right".

Oh to have a QB that finishes off a drive, rather than one that doesnt have the accuracy to work in confined spaces (or are you blaming one of the best receiving corp for not getting open enough for Dak to throw a substandard pass).

So, Schultz dropped passes are a QB performance problem and not a receiver performance problem … I see your mindset.

That is the MAIN problem with Dak, stats dont tell everything.

The stats will say that that it was completed pass, so be definition the stat is a positive. However, it was a very average throw in: the context of the game, the position on the field and that Lamb was running into space and inviting where the throw should have been.

Made worse as Dak is playing for a mega contract and Lamb is playing his first professional game.

You are under the impression that every other QB in the NFL throw it right on the numbers every time, and no receiver besides those that play for the Cowboys ever have to adjust their hands to catch a pass?

Pretty unfair standard. The throw was only slightly off the ideal location, and Lamb was able to catch it without having to stop or turn. The same throw could have been made by Mahomes or Rodgers or any QB - not at all outside the realm of what commonly occurs with QBs.

Dak is not an elite talent, but this was not an example of a major shortcoming the way you want to portray it

There was no coming around, so quit trying to claim a victory where there was none. I've never said Dak was an elite QB.

By the way, the fact you cherry picked this comment out of context says a lot about your unwillingness to have a reasonable discussion.

The reality is, and what I think you are missing, is that elite QBs don't grow on trees, and you can't just run down to Walmart and pick one up on the top shelf. Right now in the NFL I think there are only 3 - Mahomes, Rodgers and Wilson. Lamar Jackson is knocking on the door.

Most teams have to build a solid team rather than counting on just one player, and use the best alternative they can get after the very small number of "elite" QB's, and a team can sabotage itself by dumping a very good QB looking for the rare elite guy. They just aren't as available to get as some like to imagine. For that matter, neither are the very good ones. Dumping a very good QB looking for the next Brady, Brees etc … is probably more likely to get you a Jake Locker or EJ Emmanuel, or at best, another QB about the equal of the one you already had, while losing continuity in getting to that.

For me it's a player that can lead his team to victories.

He is blessed with one of the top offences, however, the same issues crop up time and time again: unable to beat good defenses on a regular basis, unable to produce in confined RZ and unable to finish of drives..... the 3rd down pass to Lamb epitomizes what Dak is, average /good but nothing special.

The issue with him is that he believes he's worth top money....he's just not good enough for us to go all the way, especially as he'd be paid over 20% of the CAP.

What you just don't get is by getting another QB there is just as much chance that the Cowboys end up with a QB that's not even as good as Prescott and then there would have to have a top 2 or 3 defense to make up for that. The draft minus the top pick for this QB and the cap space in what will be a lower cap limit next season isn't going to be enough to turn this Cowboys defense into the top 2 or 3 defense. So all you've done is make the most important position on the team weaker. You're not going to turn this defense into the 2000 ravens defense that only need Dilfer as a QB in 1, 2 or even 3 years. This is why you're just a wannabe GM and not a real GM.

In fact there's so many that teams no longer have to use their 1st round pick on one because there will still be some in the 6th and 7th rounds. Dalton could well have made that 3rd down to Lamb.

Its melodramatic to say we'd be starting over, Dak's nothing special. Most QB's could play with that offense and we'd have money available so that we wouldnt have to leave players of the standard of Terence Steele on the field.

We also need at least 2 LB's and id love to resign Aldon Smith....even with the raft of restructured contracts thats probably not going to be possible if we pay Dak.

With our offense we dont need a Mahomes or Wilson type and lets be fair Dak isnt in their league, by a fair way.

Dak is a glorified Bus Driver, who is great on the open road but has difficulty when he gets in the parking lot. .

AGAIN THOSE ELITE QB's ARE SO PLENTIFUL. Any or EVERY team can pick one up in any round in every draft they're that plentiful. Remember the raiders thought they had the next HOF QB and took him with the 1st pick in the draft. What was his name? Oh ya JaMarcus Russell. Lets take a look at some of those other QB's that teams thought they were getting an elite QB like Tim Couch, Jake Locker, Heath Shuler, Akili Smith, David Carr, Joey Harrington and the list could go on for days.
