It doesn't matter whom the HC is, if Jones is not going to stop interfering...

Gruden or Shannhan.

I would hope Chuck Norris would be in the running also.

Shanahan. Romo needs a coach who understands quarterbacks and knows how to handle them.
Gruden's act tends to wear thin after while. I don't think Shanahan had such a reputation.

As long as Jones insists on calling all the shots it doesn't matter who is coaching here.

No one.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me 13 years running ...

Bill Cowher

For 3 reasons

1) I think the guy was able to get the most out of his teams

2) I think Cowher has enough connections to be able to bring in a good staff with him - whereas I feel the others don't and won't.

3) His hire would mean that Jerry would have to take a step back from having his hands in everything

Ok howbout this.

Since there may only be about 4 teams for sure I think with openings..dallas, skins, bills and panthers.....and there are a number of good coaches available....not all of them will be hired. So my question is will all of them stay unemployed? I dont think so.

so here goes. For me. For fun.

Mike Holmgren -Head Coach
Jon Gruden - Offensive Coordinator/qb coach
Ray sherman -wr coach
Skip Peete - Running backs coach
Tight ends and line I am not sure...

Joe Decamillis Special teams

Now the clincher is defense. I really dont know enough about holmgren's tendencies to know who he would like, But I do know that holmgren has a good relationship with the parcells/bellichick regime of coaches. So maybe he pulls someone from there. Maybe romeo crennell, although I dont think he is a good fit.

and for kicks, what if mariucci realized Holmgren was putting the band back together and came along as assistant head coach/qb coach.

I would like that.

Now I realize ego's would never allow this. Financial ramifications would never allow this, but oh well.

at least we would have some structure again. everyone would know who the head coach is and all these guys have accomplished enough and know enough to do what parcells and his staff must have done....exchange pleasentries with Jerry and then go do their jobs and tell jerry to buzz off under their breath.

We would know where the ride begins and ends. their would be one story again, not conflicting stuff from the head coach/ owner/gm and then the players.

I doubt Jerrah would let Wolf come along. Heaven forbid a real GM would be a part of this great organization.

I like Cowher as well...this team needs a HC with attitude. Shanny would be my second choice.

Mike Holmgren or Dan Reeves. Shanny, Gruden no thanks.

I agree. If you watch all those NFL films shows with Holmgren and Favre, you can see how Coach Holmgren kept Favre grounded when he got careless with the ball. I can see Mike doing the same thing with Romo. Defensively, I have no idea who his ties are. Could anyone find out who Mike had as defensive coordinator in Green Bay and Seattle?
