just an FYI... with a "young fire eating coach" YOU WILL STILL LOSE IF YOU LOSE THE TURNOVER BATTLE...

I know I agree he'll prolly end up there....but I'd love him here.Joe Rod;2993881 said:Cowher doesn't want to leave NC (I think his kids are in college there), it is speculated that he may replace Fox with the Panthers if they continue to tank.

Well good...Cowher is 52:laugh2:NextGenBoys;2993901 said:Not at all.
I am firmly against any coach who is over 55.
Coaches, just like players, have a shelf-life. Once coaches hit 55, it's like a RB hitting 30.

Don't you want a coach that knows the game and knows how to motivate players and use the talent he has. You don't have to be young, mean, or even eat fire for that matter to do that.

I see what you are saying, and I agree that coaches can burn out...Parcells did it here.
I just don't think Cowher is burned out, I think he's got a lot of fire left.

We're looking at a team that is completely uninspired by its Head Coach. Wade is not a long-term solution under any circumstance, and if we manage to make the playoffs with him at the helm, it'll be DESPITE him not BECAUSE of him.
So he needs to be gone, and the sooner the better.
In the meantime, we have a young guy in Garrett who, just a couple of years ago we almost turned the whole team over to. Jerry's paying him a ton, and more than a few people have pegged him as head coaching material. He's already on staff, so I don't see any harm in jettisoning Wade's dead weight sooner rather than later and seeing if Garrett might be able to perform better as the Head Coach than he's done as the OC.
The worst case scenario is a non-playoff season, which is what we're looking like at this point anyway.
It's entirely possible that he rises to the occasion if given the opportunity. He probably won't but I certainly know that Wade isn't going to get any better.
When Garrett is given the team he needs to be told that it's playoff win or bust. It's as simple as that.
We can't keep the status quo, though, and expect things to change. And you're not going to get a quality guy in here mid-season, so might as well roll with a long-shot who's already on staff.
