Ron Rivera is a lot like Singletary on the motivational side of things. He's also versed himself in the 3-4 the past 2 seasons. He will get bites next season.

Forget a big name ofrmer coach or hotshot college coach. We will get neither. Like I have stated before, Jerry is about money now, and secondary is winning.

Our next coach will be selected on tapping in to new money streams. As such Jerry will look at a minority who can bring in more people and money to the team. For this reason, I think he will go with a Latino, so he can tap into the large latino population in the area and Mexico.

I'm thinking Rivera from SD or Juan Castillo from the Eagles. Possibly another minority, maybe Dat Nguyen. Jerry will not pay big bucks to a name coach who will demand control.

To me, of the "name" coaches that are being discussed, Gruden is the best candidate.


The guy resurrected the Raiders even though he worked for Al Davis, he has won a Super Bowl and he still wants it bad (publicly stated he would leave MNF because he wants to coach again).

Also, he has the personality that would not be overwhelmed being the HC of the Cowboys. The fact is he would love the chance to coach on the big stage that is Dallas!

Chucky in Dallas would be great entertainment!

What you are saying is very logical but winning a Superbowl would be entertainment. The last thing I want to hear is more hype and no results. Wanting and still knowing how to get it done are 2 different things.

Not saying Chucky is done, cause he's not. But he's no longer this innovative coach that players are buying into anymore either. Shanny always calls the right offensive plays when the offense has a chance to win the game. Get him a personnel guy and a DC that can get our offense the ball back and we're going big places.

Shanny is the type of coach that can get Romo back to where he should be. Shanny tried to snag Romo from us before he was a starter. Tried to trade for him. I know we are all worried about what he would do to the offensive line but I feel him and Houck could collectively utilize the o line properly as is in Shanny's offense.

Dat Nguyen would not happen. If your theory stands true, and it very well may. I believe Ron Rivera would be the guy. I brought his name up in a previous post n this thread. Young, cost effective, motivating coach who is versed in the 4-3 and 3-4. Latin and that would be where Jerry would like to go if that was the most fundamental basis of choosing his coach to target a market.

In Mexico they also put over 100K in the stands when we went to play the not so marketable Raiders during a pre season game a few years ago.

They eat the Cowboys up. That's what put over 100K in the stands that game. Only reason that team stays in Oakland is because the league can't stand Al Davis and won't allow him to build a new stadium or move it to a more profitable market.

They want Al out at all costs. He's been quietly selling small amounts of his shares because he can't sell larger amounts due to nobody having the guts to invest considerably as long as Al runs the operation and is located in Oakland. Call me crazy please .
