Not at all.

I am firmly against any coach who is over 55.

Coaches, just like players, have a shelf-life. Once coaches hit 55, it's like a RB hitting 30.

Ageism!

A coach that eats fire? That would be entertaining at least.
You then would know he's tougher than the players he has to work with.

Joe DeCamillis or Ray Sherman = my vote, IF we're going there. Otherwise just promote Garrett and bring in a good offensive coordinator..Bob Stoops.

John Gruden?

That's who I think I want. Wasn't always the case with me, but I think he would be great in Big D. Huge ego in a HUGE stadium.

Bill Cowher...not all that young anymore but he's the right guy imo.

We all assume that these high profile coaches would want to coach Dallas. IMO, none of them would be interested in working for Jerry.

Yeah I have to agree. And if one we're to come here you would have to wonder if he we're here for a big pay day from ole' Jethro. Not really the motive I would prefer.

If we tank again and need a new coach at season's end, it'd be great to find a young candidate who's ready for his first chance, but the right guy may not be ready or we might simply not hire him for whatever reason.

One coach I've like for a long time is Arizona Cardinals Offensive Line/Assistant Head Coach Russ Grimm.

Grimm received serious consideration for the Pittsburgh Steeler's top job while handling the OL there before they decided on relative unknown Mike Tomlin.

An endorsement from the Steelers carries a lot of value with me, they know what they want in a head coach.

Grimm lost out in the end, but he came very close even with Pittsburgh's preference for young coaches who will be around for a long time as long as things work out.

Fire everyone and promote our St's coach Joe De Camillus. A broken neck can't even stop that guy from eating fire, he is fire. Do it!!!

Do you think he would accept being an OC with Holmgren as HC? Two West Coast system coaches that favor the QB.

Am I dreaming? Or do you think it could happen?

I would say no to answer your question.

I would add that I dont want Holmgren.

I would also add that your idea is just TOO MUCH change IMO.

You can't change anymore then trading your Pro Bowl young QB and bringing in a slew of new players...aka the team that just beat us!

No way he leaves MNF to become an offensive coordinator.

since I threw this out there earlier and slate is just repeating it.

I will say again why I asked this same thing.

I think there are 4 jobs that will only be available at the end of the year.
Dallas, washington, buffalo and carolina.

Eliminate carolina and washington. Cowher and shanahan go to those two.

Now when evaluating buffalo you will quickly realize ralph wilson does not pay coaches, they just dont do it. they are more likely to hire mike zimmer after a good year running the bengals D than any of the top candidates.

So without including assitants, that leaves Dallas for holmgren, gruden, billick and whatever other big name pops up....

I dont think jerry would hire gruden over holmgren.

then you throw in I dont think holmgren would want to get into a tough spot like Dallas without some allies.

So that leads me to wonder, would jon gruden who in 2010 will no longer be getting paid by Tampa I believe be willing to just sit in the espn boothe and talk about the game he loves or would he be willing to go prove himself again as holmgrens OC? He would probably make us much as a coordinator in Dallas as he would to run the bills.

Lots of variables here, I dont even know if the relationship between holmgren and gruden is that strong, I just assume it is. I know the mariucci holmgren relationship is.

It would be something if gruden and mooch agreed to come along with holmgren. We would have one of the finest offensive staffs if they kept ray sherman and skip peete.

To me its almost as doable as it is crazy. We have seen gibbs reunite guys they never thought would come back in washington and vermeil did it in st.louis.

It will be interesting.

:laugh2: I swear I didn't see you state that earlier. MNF just made me think about it. I read where you thought Holmgren and Mooch would be good though.

That's what I was thinking. What other teams will be looking for a Gruden type coach? He obviously loves Romo and his offensive philosophy mirrors Holmgrens. Both are QB friendly coaches.

Like you said. Does he sit behind a booth analyzing games another year? Does he HC a Buffalo Bills team? Or does he get paid alot more and take a high glamour job as OC for the Dallas Cowboys? The last one makes the most sense.

This thread is an island of hope in a sea of inequity. By far the most enjoyable, heart warming and uplifting read in a long time.

Thank you to all that participated.
