Mark my words, we need one more big time leader on this team that knows what it is to be a champion, and what it takes to get there and be the best.

I leave you this little piece of logic from Tony Romo. He said each year you try to improve and get better and for some other players to work their butts off too. Whereas Troy Aikman demanded perfection and things done right. Even Charles Haley told Aikman if you have any trouble out of the players in the offensive huddle that dont do what you tell them to do, etc.. let me know, I will straighten them out.

Romo is getting there but he still has no cluse what it takes to get to the NFC championship game and to win. Even troy aikman said that the dallas cowboys players had no ideal till charles haley got there, or like when herb adderly told the cowboy players in 70s I am going to show you what it takes.

And that believe it or not, is logic from former pro football hall of fame players that knew what it took and how. Thats what this team needs to put them over the top.
I cannot even begin to tell you how much I disagree with that comment in bold. So much that I refuse to even read the rest of your post.

Nonsense.

I respect your opinion but I'm going to respectfully disagree. If Colombo knew he was going to hurt the team with not being fully recovered, then he should have said something to the athletic or coaching staff. You can't the coaching staff by going what the athletic training staff said. The only person who really knows if they're ready is the player. Colombo thought he was ready and he got abused the entire game. With regards to a healthy Colombo being better than Free; I believe that's the chance this organization needs to take. This organization has a history of keeping young, talented players on the bench until they're forced on the field or having ridiculous in season starts between cornerbacks (see Miles Austin and Mike Jenkins).

Coaches are supposed to be like parents in the sense that they are the ones who know what's best for the team as well as the individual players. A child will say he is ok to play but it's the parents job to make the final decision and protect that child from himself and hurting others. Colombo is not literally a child but the illustration stands for itself, he's a man's man and just like Barber will continue to play until the person in authority over rides his heart and sits his broken *** down. Had Free been starting on the RT side things might have gone differently..

Miles Austin

Exactly.

Give me a solid draft. Tender Bowen and Spears. Resign Miles and we'll be set up for superbowl runs for the next 4-5 years.

annnnnd maybe a playmaking safety.

K I'm done.

or when i posted the cowboys taking 12 players in the draft, then i moved it up to 13, and the cowboys drafted 12, mostly everyone said no way, i didnt know what im talking about huh?

Reread what Hos said. He did not say you were wrong. He simply said he disagreed. Don't get so defensive.

Three players Dallas should target in FA:

1) Richard Seymour, Oakland Raiders (30)
Seymour has been coined one of the best defensive linemen of the decade and had at one time made himself a fixture in Honolulu. An injury and a slight drop-off in his play altered his image around the league, but is still undoubtedly one of the best talents on the defensive line. Seymour has the ability and experience of playing 4-3 DT and 3-4 DE. He excels in run defense, but also has the ability to apply pressure and collapse the pocket. With his move to Oakland, the defensive line had been injected with a burst of energy and has performed pretty well down the stretch. Seymour didn’t seem too excited about being blindsided in a trade to Oakland, but has said he is interested in returning to Oakland and has begun contract talks with Al Davis. If a deal isn’t reach, expect the Raiders to apply the franchise tag on Seymour.

This is the only big time FA Dallas should consider. Seymour would make a very good Cowboys front 7, a dominant one. A championship caliber DL. This team is close, why not make a real improvement, especially at a position group that is already one of the best. The gap between ONE of the best and THE best is bridged with this signing.

More economical FAs should include: kicker, returner, etc. Sign our integral FAs and draft some playemakers at OL and S.

What in the blue hell does you making a good guess have to do with the team needing to sign one more big name free agent or someone you know thinking Brooking was too old?

No, you don't have one damned clue what you're talking about on this IMO.

We are not the Commanders. We do not seek off season championships with big splash savior Free Agents.

All that matters is both teams are sitting home on super bowl sunday...so both ways are wrong. I think the answer lies in between, it never hurts to grab a guy that can really help and if we grab a solid Olineman, I think we'll be a better team so if Jed has to spend to do it, then so be it IMHO..

I'd be down for Seymour, too. He won't make a big impact at DE here but it would be an upgrade. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere though.

I wouldn't mind Seymour but I think Spears plays his position very well, so I think if we can get Spears back for a good price then I'd do it.

I agree. Seymour would be an upgrade but I don't think you'd see much more production. So the money would be better spent elsewhere.

Because Dallas has certain restrictions on who and how many players we can sign in free agency, we have an opportunity to sign one player with a base salary of $5.5 million or more I believe. So here are a list of players I'm hoping we're interested in, and you guys can list anyone you want:

CAR LB Thomas Davis

CLE LB D'Qwell Jackson

DEN WR Brandon Marshall

HOU LB DeMeco Ryans

IND S Antoine Bethea

KC LB Derrick Johnson

NE K Stephen Gostkowski

NO G Jahri Evans
- Here's my pick. He's actually a very solid player. Having Kosier as the backup, swing guard isn't a bad situation at all. Having Evans would allow us to trade and release Colombo, keep Flozell for another year or two, move Free to RT and draft an OT in the 1st round to eventually replace Flozell. Even Free could move to LT eventually and if our 1st round OT doesn't pan out at LT, we can always move him to RT.

OAK LB Thomas Howard

SD OT Marcus McNeil

TB OT Donald Penn

EDIT: I understand some if not all of these players are restricted free agents. I'm almost positive Jahri Evans is, so it depends on the tender NO places on him.

Well, it's not that "big," but it will be Matt Stover. I guarantee you that Jerry will not go into next season without a reliable field goal kicker.

I swear, the new "Madden Management" logic that goes on in forums now, really drives me nuts. See Commanders since Snyder took over if you want to witness what that gets you year after year - No thanks.

ROFL I can imagine Snyder sitting at the couch in his owner's box playing Madden and executing a trade or signing and actually running out and doing it.
