On a scale of 1-10, how upset are you about the Tapper and Jaylon Smith picks?

So mad that I would have traded our second, fourth ( pick 101), 4 six round picks this year, lance Dunbar, Mayowa, Ryan Russell, randy Gregory, Damien Wilson, and next years second round pick for Everson Griffin and Linval Joseh.

I'm mad about all of our second round picks after Sean Lee. If Smith makes it to the field it would temper a anger a little but our success rate in the second has got to be well below the league average. That's where you build your team.

Not a really bright comment. The vast majority of players in the NFL were taken AFTER the first round. James Bradberry, CB, Samford/ Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson are two big cover corners making their presence felt in the league as rookies. We sure could use one of those guys right about now.

So, you can list two guy, neither of which you have any idea how they would have done here? What's not bright is this idiotic "we should have drafted this guy" mentality, especially when people like you wait until after the draft to pick "that guy." By the way, I've watched both and I'm not sure either would start for us right now.

Ummmmm

There is this player named Dak
You might have missed it but we picked him in the 4th round
Now go clean uncle jerrys glasses

Yes, we hit on a pick. And if you knew anything about the draft, you'd understand how rare Dak is in that regard.

We got two potential stars in Dak and Zeke ....... that by itself makes this draft a success.

If Tapper and Smith are what we think they could be next year then this draft is an overwhelming success.

Especially with how well our offense is playing...we could actually make noise this year..

I was actually excited about Tapper when we drafted him ...but uh .

The Gregory and Death Ro nonsense was bad enough and now this.

5. Im not upset about Tapper. That situation is out of the Cowboys hands. There was no way to know about his condition. So the 5 comes from Jaylon. If he doesn't return to play next year it goes to 10. If he does it goes to 0.

Im not going to weigh on smith until i find out if hes going to be able to play or not.
Tapper has plenty of time this season to payboff.

You're not taking a risk at #34 though. There were players who represented immediate upgrades and who were healthy sitting on the board. We didn't need to risk a guy never making it back, we didn't need to risk him coming back not as good, and we didn't need to wait a year to get him on the field.

So who did you have in mind?

Actually the Tapper injury was one that could have been know, since he has had the back injury since he was a child.

Now if it is something (MRI) that would be SOP for a player that you where not seeing symptoms in his college play is another question.

But it could have been know, just not sure we can blame the Boys for not knowing.

A team can't give every single player that is draft eligible an MRI. They can't be blamed for it.

Too early to upset about Smith. Tapper's pick sucks. Really can't believe it took till NFL career started to find out about a defect that is probably career ending.

Won't bother to give a numerical grade.

All I will say is we knew about Smith and at least he is an elite talent.

Tapper? I can only laugh.

Tapper was a fourth rounder with probably the best measurables a left on the board. Injury aside it wasn't a bad pick at the time.

I'm not upset at all. I am happy with this and even last years draft. We are getting younger and more talented.

Obviously we have holes, but which team doesn't? Any team can and will always say they can improve.

I would have been much more risk averse than JJ with the 2nd round pick especially after the team's woeful showing last year. I'll be delighted if Smith pans out but would still give the pick a thumbs down for the high risk factor which could just as easily turn out badly (Gregory).

I'm almost resigned to the fact that we're going to do stupid stuff on draft day and take some major risks. It's just the DNA of this team under a Jimmy-Johnson-less Jerry Jones.

So I've stopped getting upset. Why get upset when people continue to do what their DNA influences them to do?
