Seriously, though, Romo could get hurt doing a lot of things. He could get hurt walking down the stairs. He could hurt his hand drawing up secret plays with Witten. He could get some vicious VD chasing tail at the nearest club. Do we keep him from doing all of those things just because he could get hurt?

If you have some evidence of a number of people getting hurt holding the football, then that changes things entirely. Until then, I don't see the point in handling him with kid gloves just because we are paranoid over what could happen.

if it could potentially improve the ball-club...

and we have evidence that it could, Romo is a pretty good holder, then you take the chance
