Thank you for posting this it shows WHAT a failure this organization is at evaluating talent and this list of 4 is nothing to loook at either.

It was a bad organization at evaluating draftable talent over those 4 seasons.

The last 3 drafts have been considerably better.

Better but still not great ones. You must get hits on at least your top 3; or if not a real steal in the later rounds. If you do not come out of each draft with three guys that will start for you that draft is a failure.

Do you realize how hard a accoplishment that this would be? Do you mean 3 starters from day 1? So, for example, in this years draft, Dallas's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks, all have to be starters, or the draft is a failure. Wow!

I agree. Last years draft produced one unless some of these others make a big improvement. I am not sold on these last few draft classes like some of the other fans. There are too many injury prone players that can't stay on the field.

No, I would say 3 guys is actually a good draft.

2 starters is probably an average draft.

1 starter is below average.

0 starters is a disaster.

I think that is the results of a study someone posted here a few years ago on the chances of finding a consistent starter in the draft. I think you have a 50% chance of finding a single starter in rounds 4-7, for example.

People here underestimate how difficult it is to hit on a draft pick.

The 2012 draft's success depends a great deal on whether Mo becomes an All-Pro, Crawford becomes a starter and whether Wilber, Coale, Hanna or Johnson can become contributors. I think this past draft will end up being better than most people realize should they remain healthy. It already looks like Hanna is going to become a contributor and I think Crawford will be a late bloomer who will do better now in the 4-3.

With 2006 and even 2007 you're going back a long time in NFL years. You don't expect most of those players to be with you anymore. Was Canty a bad pick because he isn't here? If Spencer leaves, was he a bad pick?

Not every thread has to be sunshine & lollipops. Lets be realistic here. People have the right to voice what there thinking. it does get annoying every now & then but not enough for me to whine about it..

Gosh you don't think Crawford or Hanna showed some glimpses?

Granted folks like Lee need to stay on the field but what they have shown has been very good.

Granted 2006 and 2007 were a while ago. And Canty was a good pick.

But overall those drafts were lousy.

And if one wanted to ask, "OK what was the prime reason for three seasons of 6-10, 8-8 and 8-8?" then you have to go back to those drafts along with those of 2008 and 2009 as being the prime reasons.

I personally think they showed some potential and am really excited to see what they can do this upcoming season. But, it is hard to rubber stamp those two as successful picks just yet with the small sample size.

Heck, it would be nice to come out training camp with Crawford, Wilber, Johnson hyped up in starting roles and Hanna/Coale being touted as major contributors, but until they get there it is just a big question mark outside of Mo.

FOUR players left from all those drafts? I challenge anyone to find a team with a worse draft history than that.....maybe Jacksonville? That's an ABOMINATION........I just posted in the "trade down" thread how JJ and his minions can't be trusted to pull it off: this thread proves that I'm 100% on unfortunately

You are absolutely correct. So now what? Do you like the recent drafts from the Cowboys? Are you looking forward to this draft?

Crawford and Hanna showed signs of being able to contribute. At what level, it remains to be seen. Crawford will be a rotational player and Hanna will offer some production in certain offensive packages. I don't see either of them as a starter in the near future. I don't see the value in having one solid starter in last years draft considering the number of holes that needed filled when they could have had two or three starters with a trade back. The trade up to target one player is move for teams that only a player or two away from contention.

Drafting players with injury concerns is asking for future problems. They become part time players and Dallas doesn't have the depth to take chances on these players. Players such as Lee and Murray are very good , but can't be depended on. I think it is hard to build a team that has to depend on these players being healthy.

I'd say the jury's still out on that. It wasn't long ago the 2008 class was considered to be a good one. Now look at it.

I think there may be some improvement, but it still isn't good enough.

Crawford was a spare part last year. He didn't show anything on the field to indicate he's a future core player. I still like his potential though.

Hanna caught a couple of balls late in the year. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

What is with people posting these threads about previous drafts? People are not blind, we know previous drafts in the past have hurt. We don't need to see it every hour by someone on here. Does this make you feel better or something by posting this?

I love it. It's just another stark reminder of just how incompetent Jerry is. He's a complete embarrassment as a GM!!

reading comprehension is your friend. You of course missed where I said that if you missed early you had to hit late.
