Opinion: If we don't win out-we aren't getting in

Right and AZ would have to lose all 3 games and we would have to win all 3 games. You know how we play versus teams that are above .500 right? Well, we have to play 2 of those teams out of our next 3. We are done.

2-3. Not the worst record vs teams that are above .500. The same record Philly has vs teams above .500.

The bottom line is that if we lose to Philly next week..............we will no longer control our destiny for any playoff spot, be it division or wildcard.............we will have to rely on other teams losing to get a playoff spot.

I think that is the point the OP was trying to make.

Actually, he said we have to get to 12-4, not just get by PHI.

I don't care, though. I just want to enjoy this dang week heading up to the biggest game of the season and then see what happens. If we beat them, then things look a lot better. If they don't, and we don't make it to the dance, it'll have more to do with getting swept by them than anything else, so the rest of it really doesn't matter as far as I'm concerned.

I hear you bro, I am going to enjoy this week as well.

Not going to get stressed out about the game, the fact is that if we are not good enough to beat Philly and we are swept by them............then we really are not a playoff caliber team anyways. We are just a team that took advantage of a soft schedule and the stars aligned that one afternoon in Seattle. Every other team with a winning record we lost to.

However, if we do beat Philly next Sunday night..............I am going streaking!!!!......................might need to call you for bail money Idgit.

It's been kind of surreal. Unlike many, I've felt we were close to putting it all together. But it's been fun to see some of the games we've historically lost break more our way for a change. The best thing is that it's also very obvious what we need to continue to do to get better.

Gross.

If you get picked up, I hear the cool thing to do is to ask the booking officer to give you a massage.

Cowboys Revenge Tour '14. Beating the Saints, Bears and Seahawks, plus a sweep of the hated Giants have made this year fun. It's also great to play meaningful games in December and hopefully January.

It's always cool to see us argue over something we can't control. I say, win out. Why? Because winning out helps you prepare to win out in the playoffs.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The Chiefs failing to get the job done (despite some bad officiating calls) was the biggest disappointment.

All in all the Cowboys will not be able to back into the playoffs and even if they beat the Eagles as I expect, the Colts will be a challenge due to the fact they match up extremely well. Hilton, Wayne, Fleener and Moncrief will probably make that game a track meet.

I don't think Zona loses out. Maybe 2 games. But I see that SF as a win. Don't think the Niners are going to compete rest of the way.

The Bears are terrible, as is Minny, so Lions are not losing either.

We literally have to win the division. Again. 4 years in a row, we'll likely have to beat a NFCE opponent to get into the playoffsplayoffs. We'll need help if we don't win this weekend. Even if we do, that Colts game will be tough

Why is everyone thinking we win the tie breaker over SEA?

We don't own the tiebreaker over any of the teams competing for the Wild Card. SEA, ARZ and DET only have 2 conference losses, we already have 4. GB has 3.

We lose one of these next 3 games we need someone else to lose 2, pretty simple.

Exactly. It seems like we always worry about needing other teams to do X so we can make it in. This year we completely control our own destiny but having to beat 2 teams above .500 out of our next 3 seems impossible for this team. I mean how many teams over .500 have we beat in the last 2 years? 1? Seattle is the only game I can think of.

If we finish with the same exact record as Seattle and no other teams have the exact same record then I believe we are in because the first tie breaker would be head to head and we beat them head to head this year. If 3 teams are tied then it would go to conference record as the first tie breaker.

Get your negativity out of here this week.

We got a job to do and WE'RE GONNA DO IT, BABY!

If we beat the Eagles, I think we will be able to beat the Colts too. I don't expect us to be able to beat the Eagles though.

It's not very encouraging. Only way we get in is if one of the following 4 teams finishes w 10 wins

Cardinals - already at 10. Must lose out. Unlikely

Lions - need to lose vs min or @chi. Probably best chance and still not likely.

Eagles - have to lose to us and @was or @ny...maybe

Seahawks - need to lose 2/3...very unlikely

I don't see any of the above happening...we need to win 12 games to get in

I agree to be honest.

I just don't see how we get in the wild card at this point. It's just not going to happen for us. We're going to need to win the division or we're not getting in.
