He retired, and he's still better than Flozell Adams. You seemed to have let the point escape you.

If that was the point you were trying to make, you're as dumb as everyone has said you are..........

I would say that the difference between a RT and LT is huge. Tackles look much better playing the right side where they usually do not face the opposing team's top pass rusher and have help from the TE. I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable replacing Adams with any RT.

Julius Peppers, Michael Strahan, Javon Kearse, etc. All line up across from RTs

You have a very simplistic view of coaching.

If ignorance is bliss, you must be one happy camper.

Coaching, when you get down to the point, is fairly simplistic as far as playcalling goes, even moreso for defensive coordinators. You have several sets you use, 1 or 2 that you use the majority of the time, and you have different variations of what certain players do in those sets. Defensive playcalling is, a lot of the time, guessing what the offense will do and hope that you guessed right. Obviously, certain situations dictate certain formations, like when the offense is on the goal line or when they are throwing deep with 3 seconds left, but that is not the majority of the time.

Watching you debate, HH31, is like watching a kid with no arms in a slap-fight. I don't want to watch. I feel guilty for laughing. But I just can't help myself. It's awesome.

If the kid had no arms, it wouldnt be a slap fight, now would it?

However, not one person has told me WHY those players are not as good as Flo, just that they arent. I wonder why.....

I have seen the scouting reports and MOST of them had Columbo middle or late first rd. I was living in the midwest at the time and most thought it was a good pick. At the worst he was a high 2nd rd pick. So the TALENT was there- physically. And this guy had no personality dings either.

So you went from "he was a legitimate first round pick" to now "at worst a high 2nd".

He was regarded as a borderline first round choice. To me, that's not "legitimate". Perhaps you have a different definition.

Uh, thanks. I think.

Soooooo, back to the topic at hand, why did a blitz-heavy defensive coordinator decide to throw out his bread and butter against the Cowboys? Just because? Did he forget?

Okay, whatever. Obviously, it is easy to think he was referring to my post by stating that "was his point" when Alexander said that Hopkins retired.

Again, don't ask me, I don't know, and I really don't care. He blitzed very rarely even from the start of the game. He didnt just stop when Dallas beat them deep on the flea flicker in the 3rd quarter. I'll bring you up the game thread from ES and even they were begging and pleading that Williams blitz because there was no logic as to why he wasnt, especially early when Dallas known to have a below average line.

Legitimate to me means that at least half the scouts and pubs and experts called him that. I said AT WORST he was a high 2nd. He ALWAYS had first rd measureables.

Emmitt Smith's best season wasn't as good as Shaun Alexander's....

true, but Samuel's hasn't been consistently very good either like Flo, so I'm going by their best seasons as a pro

Because Hopkins was out of jest, I'll give you him. I'll even concede that Samuels, Lepsis and Thomas (because of his recent decline) are debateable. However, Anderson, Light, Glenn and McKinnie are clearly superior tackles.

The overrating of fairly average football players on this board is reaching Commanders levels.

I said tackles, I didnt specify which side they played on.

well the best OTs usually play on the left-side, so...
