Patriots fans nervous about Romo's landing spot

Yes it would be. We don't have to let that happen btw. If we don't get an impact player in return, Tony could sit there til rapture.

Sure, you could. But players around the league would take notice. Goodwill matters and letting a guy like Romo rot on the bench, when he could be playing at a high level elsewhere, might put a black-eye on the team. How much of a black-eye? I don't know. It also creates additional and unneeded drama throughout all of next season and beyond.

I'm hoping he lands with the Jets. Gives me a reason to watch more football. :)
Couldn't agree more, especially since the Jets are my "backup" team so to speak. I might even go to a few Jets games!

I agree mostly but perhaps I'm being harsh. I can't stand Terrell Owens but always acknowledged his talent. Thing is, I frequently bagged on him while admitting I was being hypocritical. I guess I wouldn't mind as much if some people were honest while bagging on Romo as long as they confessed about their own hypocrisy.

Yeah, but good luck with that!

Some people aren't big enough to admit it even when it's clearly pointed out to them.

The players know one thing better than fans do......this is a business.

If we just let Tony go to the Broncos for nothing, guess what, if we think we are so good we might face him.

Pats fans have one reason to be nervous, hoping Jerry doesn't give Tony away for nothing.

Interesting.

Romo has been overly criticized for years by some people. He's no longer the starter but wants to play as a starter. One option being speculated is Denver but seemingly some people feel that he "shouldn't be allowed" to go outside the division and outside the conference because he might defeat Dallas down the road?

So not only did some people want him to lose the job he's dreamed of landing--and did--but some people don't want him to seek his dream OUTSIDE the NFC East and OUTSIDE the NFC?

The guy cannot, literally, catch a break with some people. Selfishness knows no limits. The funny thing is that some people have always said Romo can't win in the playoffs, which begs the question...

If he "can't" win in the playoffs what does it matter which team he goes to next?

What is WRONG with some people?

I don't think any team can afford to make such a magnanimous and costly gesture. This is a business after all.
Every team does not have Jerry Jones as its general manager. I think it's highly probably Jones makes some degree of compromise concerning Romo. He'll take the heat if the compromise is disliked or criticized but that's not something he hasn't done many times in the past. He enjoys the attention.

He'd also sit back and cost the team $24 million dollars too, in a backup role. No team would or could go for that.

"Compromise"? Definitely. But I don't see that involving setting him free and getting nothing in return. There's generous, and then there's stupid.

I think Jones will do everything he can for Romo, right up to letting him go for nothing.

I think there would be a lot more Jerry Jones fans if he was as intelligent as some people wanted him to be.

If it meant making your competition leaps and bounds better, for nothing, then I would do it in a heartbeat.

If we are so good right now, why is everyone scared to let Romo sit on the bench. Romo is a huge advantage for this team at this point. Hopefully we don't waste it.

Don't forget that it's not just him now. Stephen is a lot less sentimental than Jerry and he grows more influential by the day I think. Especially when his plans appear to be paying off so well.

Neither the Cowboys, nor any other team, could afford to. $24 million is just too much money to tie up in any player not seeing the field, no matter how good they are. The Cowboys need that money.

Who's this "everyone" you're referring to?

Just reading the threads. Anyway the Cowboys need the money, but to get nothing in return makes the situation worse. He needs to be traded for picks, player, something. Cutting him shouldn't even be in the equation cause it just doesn't make sense.

I haven't forgotten about Stephen. In fact, I think he will be proactive in an amicable Romo departure. In my opinion, Stephen is more progressive than his father. I believe he's shooting for a more sustainable young roster over time.

I don't think they'll cut him either.
