Just reading the threads. Anyway the Cowboys need the money, but to get nothing in return makes the situation worse. He needs to be traded for picks, player, something. Cutting him shouldn't even be in the equation cause it just doesn't make sense.

The Romo haters in these threads gotta Romo hate. They see Tony as worthless, so of course they just say 'cut him already. Trade him? LOL who'd want that injured loser?!'.

I agree it's pretty damn stupid.

They should be more nervous about what post-NE looks like after Brady is gone.
Brady is getting better as he gets older. He'll play for 10 more years. How can he be the only QB in history putting up his best numbers at 39?

not to mention the infamous carson palmer trade lol. I can't see Houston paying that much for an additional qb though after the dough they laid out for brocket launcher

Houston is an interesting situation. They paid a lot of coin for an unproven QB. If their season turns out bad, like a Brock implosion game bad.....I can see them making a play for a temporary solution. Rick Smith will be on a very hot seat with pressure to fix the offense. They can always place Brock as the back-up to learn for a year or two under Tony. That is a lot of money tied up to two QB's but Romo would not command near to what he has been paid.

I just want to see it and watch my friends meltdown and observe them change their tune rapidly

The Romo speculation is understandably rampant. New England fans are concerned Romo could end up in Denver or New York.

http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...ds/where-will-tony-romo-go-next-jets.1135293/

Top 5 quarterbacks are rarely up for grabs like this. It's like the Peyton Manning tour.
I don't know why anyone thinks the Jets would be a good spot for him. The OLine is a shell of what it once was, their WRs are aging and injury prone, and their RB stable features no one special. The defense is pretty good, but as we've seen recently, some of their best defensive players are knuckleheads. Bowles is a good coach. But the whole Jets organization is a black hole of misfortune surrounded by the insane media hope of NYC. Trust me, I live in NY - bad spot for Tony or anyone else in a similar situation.

I'm hoping if he does go, it's to the Jets. Looks like a good fit and if I wasn't the massive cowboys fan I am today, I'd be a jets fan. Cool name and uniforms and they had Broadway Joe!

If Romo gets traded, he's going to have a say in the trade. He would not want to go to to a team with no running game. That automatically makes the Broncos more questionable.

Denver is at 24th in the league rushing the ball this year, which is surprising when you consider they've gone with Siemian this year and you'd expect they'd be running A LOT to take pressure off of him.

How many here ever thought that they'd see Manning, Bledsoe, Brees, Favre or Montana in a different uniform? I'm sure Jerry and the Cowboys are very loyal to Tony, but let's not forget that this is a business and the bottom line is winning. If you don't think Romo's $$ can help this D get better, think again. We are not going to have a $24m dollar backup folks. Either Romo starts here or he is gone. It's not personal.....

I'd ask for a #1 pick, nothing less. I'd let that go as long as possible until I can't hold out anymore, than I'd try 2 and so on.

Or what? You have no leverage. Romo has veto rights in his contract and the Cowboys are not about to pay their backup 25m/season

I'm ready to order my Denver or Arizona (should Palmer retire or be ousted) hat and Jersey. Denver drafts one of the feature backs in the 2017 draft and a lineman in the 3rd (assuming they give a 2017 2nd rounder and a conditional 2018 3rd rounder) coupled with that defense...the AFC should be concerned. Arizona gets the OL improved via the draft and couple that with the running game and defense...the Cards would be in business as well. Romo could have a Kurt Warner like close to his career in either one of those locations. I'll still be a Zoner but I'm going on record now saying I will have a Romo jersey and matching hat on every Sunday if he lands in either of these two spots.

Too bad Minnesota jumped the gun and took Bradford for a 1st because Romo, AP, Diggs, Rudolph and defense would be sick too. Not sure how I would look in Vikes purple though.

Edit: I would look pretty good in Texans gear as well since I've already attended games there when a client played for them in 2013. Romo with their RB, WR and defense would be nice! Draft OL Texans and admit you were wrong by getting rid of Osweiler.

I think it's interesting people assume he'll be traded.. They had just as much respect for Ware and he was released. He already had a deal with Denver in place.

I've been wrong alot lately (lol), but put me in the camp that he'll be a designated June 1 cut and released before the next league year.

Agreed. CZ assumes he'll be traded because everyone here is giddy about getting draft pick(s)

Cj Anderson and Trevor booker are both really good backs. The problem lies exactly with what you mentioned. Siemian SUCKS, so defenses can focus on the run. Harder to do with Romo throwing to Thomas and Sanders

Mostly because its a qb starved league and the Bradford trade makes it seem far more plausible, and there are several teams that are contenders or would be contenders with a franchise qb even as a stop gap

The Denver situation is nearly identical as it was with Peyton and Brock. Down to age and injury question. Difference being they signed him instead of traded for him. But Peyton Manning not walking through those doors folks. Time to pay the piper :flagwave:

He wont last long behind that offensive line.

Wrong...because that offensive line won't look so...offensive next year. Denver and Arizona are clearly the two most viable choices, give me Denver (okay, maybe that is partly because I live there. LOL)

Frankly, I could live with it if we lose -- that's how much I want Romo to get what he has EARNED, a SB trophy.
I'd root for Tony as long as he didn't play us. I don't even like Denver but I rooted for them last year because of Ware and Wade.
