Peppers will only accept a trade to a 3-4 team and apparently 1 of 5 teams, which happens to include Dallas.

I'd be very surprised Dallas wasn't in on this if this was the cost. I suspect Dallas would gladly give up Ellis plus a pick for Peppers. Jerry loves big name guys. I can't see any team thinking a 3rd plus Ellis is worse than a straight up 2nd.

I suspect we have zero interest.

1, we have DeMarcus Ware who is alot (yeah, ALOT) better player than peppers, and he is going to become the highest paid player in the NFL. There's little sense in adding another OLB who will want/get nearly as much.

2, there is something that isnt right with Peppers. He does not go all out every play. He wants to play in a brand new scheme at a brand new position, and nobody can say for certain whether he will even be any good there. Nobody with his talent should have have a season like he did in 2007, where he managed only 2 1/2 sacks.

Compare the Pats' results vs. the Cowboys and Commanders.

They generally do make smart moves, while the Cowboys and Commanders usually do not.

I think our front office makes extremely smart moves.

The players on the field just end up finding bonehead ways to lose. But compare what we do to the rest of the league and we aren't even close to being as boneheaded as some of you want to believe.

When you play Dallas the #1 thing you have to worry about on Defense is our blitz schemes.

Ellis being one of the guys who is successful at getting to the Quarterback has to make you believe he isn't just some after thought.

I know everyone is all aboard the "we hate Greg Ellis because he whines to much" train, but Ellis has played hard for the Cowboys and has done a heck of a job for this franchise.

Even when we were bad he gave it his all.

I haven't been to happy with Ellis lately but I will always appreciate the job he has done to try and help my favorite team win.
Ellis has been a slightly above average player who's benefitted the last few years from playing across from Demarcus Ware.

The Cowboys' "blitz schemes" had a successful run at the end of last season, but I think it's a safe bet that the #1 thing opposing teams are concerned with is where Demarcus Ware is.

That's a completely contradictory statement. We have bonehead players, but the GM isn't responsible for them. Yet they're talented boneheads, so the GM gets a passing grade for bringing them in.

9-7 speaks for itself. 13 years without a playoff win.

I dont care how Average or not average Ellis is.

He gives it his all on the football field and at least I know when he is out there he isn't getting beat because he is not trying his hardest.

He has been a very good player for this franchise.

And before you call him Average I would look at every DE/ 3/4OLB before I throw out the word average.

He may not be great but he has been an above "average" player.

The one knock against Peppers, and going on memory the only knock against Peppers, coming out of college was passion for the game.

When Peppers wants to play, he's great. But he doesn't always want to play.

That may be one major reason the Panthers don't want to pay him the bucks and entice him to stay.

Yeah lets jump off the ship after a bad season. Thats what smart organizations always do.

Especially when they can't stay healthy.

Dallas has the talent in place. Whether or not they will stop shooting themselves in the foot is another story. But our roster is absolutely stacked.

I said he was slightly above average. Certainly never worthy of his draft status.

IMO, he's the biggest negative influence on the entire team. Even moreso than TO was. He has a loser's mentality. He's hardly the person you want Ware and company looking at as their example.

I know we're held to a higher standard because we are the Cowboys but some franchises would kill to have a 9-7 record and thats what we had in a absolutely awful year.

I realise this team has stumbled late in the playoffs lately but the regular season still matters and we've had some good times over the past 4 years.

At least those of us who actually enjoy wins and don't cry everytime we get a chance to cry.

Oh really how do you know this?

I remember you laughing and having this same attitude towards me when I said in the preseason of 07 that the pats looked different than everyone else and had a chance to be unbeaten. If I recall I think you said they would be lucky to go 11-5 in 07?

So why do you have a crystal ball now?

they made it to the Bowl and a another AFC championship during that time to.....
Patriots get, Galloway, Taylor and Peppers, we get Brookings, Gerald.

And the bad thing is that they keep their whole oringinal draft....

Nothing I can say but regardless of the spygate with the Pats, they build around their QB, draft good, and don't give everyone on their team big contracts, ala Jerry Jones.....
