Peppers isnt going to sign with anyone for a discount

exactly, he was schedule to make 16 mil this year, then again he might take a discount, he might only command 14 mil...

LOL when they use a 4 man DL of Seymour, Warren, Wilfork, and Peppers.

Disgusting.

if he's talking about a discount from the franchise tag money he most certainly will take a discount.

Peppers is the one big name I would have liked to have seen Jerry roll the dice for.

As if that's the difference between Ellis and Peppers. I can't believe anybody even posted that.

Peppers is the guy defenses key on against Carolina. Ellis is an afterthought for teams playing Dallas.

I agree Peppers needs game planning but to think Ellis is an afterthought is hyperbole. Ellis is a critical incredient to our defense until Spencer shows he can play as well or better. Even then Ellis is a necessary backup as a 3rd OLB at the very least. Right now he's still a better LB than Spencer and a much better run stuffer. Some of you people haven't the slightest clue how this defense runs. I realize that's about as blount as it gets but damn.

I suspect we have zero interest.

1, we have DeMarcus Ware who is alot (yeah, ALOT) better player than peppers, and he is going to become the highest paid player in the NFL. There's little sense in adding another OLB who will want/get nearly as much.

2, there is something that isnt right with Peppers. He does not go all out every play. He wants to play in a brand new scheme at a brand new position, and nobody can say for certain whether he will even be any good there. Nobody with his talent should have have a season like he did in 2007, where he managed only 2 1/2 sacks.

I have some concerns about Peppers as well. You expect him to be like Ware. Always a concern. But he does disappear at times. Perhaps it's injuries as 07 he was hurt. I suspect it's more than that. Still at his worse he's still someone you gotta watch. Like a snake in a woodpile....you know he's there.

The only way I see us trading Crayton as part of a package is getting another veteran WR first.

We simply can't go into the season with RWilliams, Austin, and Hurd as our top 3 wideouts. If we were to go get Holt, for example, then I could see us trying to leverage Crayton.

Agreed. I'm a little scared with what we have to be honest but I keep telling myself we'll be ok....on odd days.

The Pats won't take him if they don't think he's gonna do a decent deal with them. When Moss was on the market I thought the same thing but they let him test it and he signed with them for what was said to be about $2 million less a year. That's significant. I do understand your perception of Peppers and any other team than the Pats I would agree.

Peppers will absolutely not get Haynesworth type money as we know because of the age factor but he won't average almost $15 million a year like Haynesworth either. He'll get $10 million a season with $27.5 million guaranteed over 5 years. At today's market that's a discount for a player like Peppers as crazy as those numbers are.

I'm with you. I can't see how the Pats would agree to a trade without a renegotiated contract. What am I missing? I think your numbers could be high actually but with decent guarantees.

Its not just that. But on one side they can have peppers lining up behind seymour and moving around. That is absurd. ANd they have the brains to make it all work.

I only posted to dbair what I did because arizona and pittsburgh played in the superbowl. New england made arizona look like the JV last december and had moss not dropped two passes new england beats pittsburgh. ANd new england owns pittsburgh, had the pats won that game and been in the playoffs I am not so sure they dont win the superbowl this past year.

So to say they wont win this year is fine, but to act like they wont for sure is crazy.

IMO, you can line everyteam up with the pats when brady is healthy and the pats are better, now you throw in fred taylor, baker, peppers, springs and bodden.

Please. 2009, maybe 2007 all over again only this time they finish the job.

Before or barring any injuries they look like a team no one can matchup with again. Its hard enough to deal with brady, now he has a veteran players all around him who can make things happen and I have a hard time imagining them not winning at least 13 games.

How well run that organization is astounding to me.

They've got some geniuses working up in Foxboro.

I don't Mas. Maybe it's a numbers thing. Where as we got 3 wheels and only 2 Gerbals, maybe they got like 1 wheel but, they got all 3 Gerbals powering that sucker.

Could be a numbers thing.

That LB group of Peppers - Thomas - Mayo and whomever will be their 4th LB... that's going to be a helluva front seven. And they'll have the experience in the secondary with Bodden and Springs at CB.

Then, there's that offense led by that one QB.

You know,

IF we were to sign Holt, get one more decent CB in FA, and have a solid draft, we could be every bit as scary as the Pats.

The ? is Brady and if he's going to be fully recovered mentally and physically.

But I love our TEs and cast of RBs.

If we had Holt, I'd still prefer the Pats WRs because they are proven. But our wideouts would be good enough to get the job done.

We need our OL to step up big time. And it's really more the depth at this stage. We need some real depth.

But that's a lot of if's on our part.

You better believe it, not to mention arguably the best 34 DE in the league in Seymour.

If Brady's knee is good to go, I suspect only injuries can derail the Pats.

No way. Brady will not be 100%. I'll take that bet right now (case of Heineken).

I havent looked at their schedule, but I doubt they do.

And honestly if they do go 16-0 I couldnt care less, as long as they fail in the postseason like they did in 2007 again.

barring injury they will do no worse than 14-2 or 15-1. If Indy doesn't beat them than nobody will in the regular season.
