wonder if the rumors of trading for Brockers will kick back up.
I would do it,we got some comp picks coming.

Has anyone seen Brent? La'el Collins arrives and suddenly one of our players "retires"?
We need DT help with or without Brent..........
Really would have preferred Brown to Jones at 27.
next question is does this save us some $$$?

Yeah, his base salary is a gain: $745,000
Brent wanted to retire.
Very kind of the dolt to wait until after the draft to do it. On one hand, I hope it was a last minute decision that is on him and not something he made the team aware of prior to last weekend and they still ignored the position. We did not even address it in UDFA, only Chucky Hunter is going to camp and that is on a tryout basis. That is just criminal.
I think they likely told him he was being cut, and said that was it for him. It coincides with the rest of the players who were cut.

Then why not just cut him? A player can't place themselves on the reserve-retired list. The team does that.
My guess is that either:
1) Brent decided he did not have the desire to play any longer
2) Brent has had another issue with alcohol or some controlled substance
How many DT's do most teams carry? Without Brent, we still have five on the roster as I recall. It wasn't an urgent need before the draft. I don't think losing someone who wasn't being counted on at all, changes that.
