It would be pretty tough next year when you had to pay them both
It's crazy to give a premium pick to have a guy one year
That's a Roy Williams deal all over again and those deals hurt the team for years

It would be the opposite of RW11.

Trade them a 3rd and get Dez insurance and partner when he comes back.

Let him leave as a FA and get a comp pick back, maybe a 3rd probably a 4th.

Ok and why wouldn't you just draft guys to fill those positions?

I would, because I wouldn't be throwing my draft picks down the toilet.

BPA in the draft, then fill in what I couldn't get in FA.

If the NFL didn't have a salary cap, I'm sure Jerry would have 40 of the top 100 players in the NFL on this roster. But it does.

Successful teams don't spend 20+mil a year on two WRs.

Forte is the guy that is a difference maker IMO.

If you could go back in time to last year and you knew trading for another pass rusher would win the Green Bay for you (it would have) - would you give up a 3rd round pick to get into the Super Bowl? Would you forgo Chaz Green?

I would.

They would likely not take a 3rd for him, but
  1. You would never franchise him; he's not that player
  2. You make the deal contingent on signing him to a deal
  3. He's better than any WR you'd find in round 3, and he's needed now and the immediate future as Romo doesn't need to wait on a developmental guy
It would be a great move; any move for an established veteran WR is a good move, but unlikely to happen.

Frankly I would not get either. Forte would really help this team but I would not pay him 7 million plus a pick. He would be a real option for me next year though if he stays healthy and productive. He is really underrated imo.

Definitely no on Jeffrey. Most QB and WR require a lot of reps to build continuity. He won't have that in Dallas. Plus he is going to get big money next year. I would much rather sign our own than signing a number 2 receiver big money. Plus receivers are coming out ready every year now. I would much rather draft one and have him play on a rookie contract. Giving up a pick for a guy like that is of no interest to me.

If they can get Forte to sign a three year deal I'd trade a 2nd or 3rd but there's a lot of ifs involved here probably not worth it.

He would certainly make a difference in our cap costing 7 million dollars
How much cap space we have right now?

Forte is not what we need. He is an older, slower version of DMC.

Yeah you're probably right but none of the guys we have at RB excite me in the least. Maybe I'm buying into Forte because of name recognition but I think this team needs to add life to the position

Roy Williams was a one hit wonder wide receiver, who was slow and didn't add anything to our offense. We could have gotten Boldin for cheaper and he was a better player.

Comparing things to the Roy Williams trade is a false equivalence.

You don't have to pay these guys if you don't want to keep them, but if they deliver a super bowl... I'll take it.
