Pettiti not the answer at RT...

I don't know what people are expecting out of Pettiti.. that he's going to all of the sudden start dominating? The guy was a 6th round pick and he's playing like a 6th round pick, and chances are that's how he'll be his entire career. He's just not a starting NFL tackle, and if we had any depth on this O-Line, wouldn't have to be.

3 years in and Parcells still hasn't fixed the Line at all.. pathetic.

I'll call her tonight and find out.

But, she has thick skin, I'm sure she won't mind what's said on the internet.

By you or anyone I'll bet. Well, sound like you come by it honestly so maybe I shouldn't be so hard on you aye?

let's give rob some time to grow before we write him off. this was probably his first time without much help. at least now parcells knows he's not ready to go man-up at this point. we just need to adjust the offense to continue to give him help.

what concerns me is now we have to do something on tucker's side too. helping one tackle is one thing, devising a scheme to help both tackles - now that is going to be a problem.

Guys let's stop being so petty... Both of your points have been made. And Pittdawg has responded, so I say move on...

He had an awful day, giving up two sacks on a DE who isnt as good as the last two guys he has faced. Fisher isnt bad but he isnt elite either. OT is a major need and a liability this offseason. Screw FS, Davis and Pile seem to have it under control now. IMO we will rebuild the Oline like we did the Dline this offseason. It's still amazing to me that this season has gone to **** without Flozell. Tucker had a better game than Pettiti and he was a backup to open the season.

Lower your expectations a bit- the kid was a 6th round pick and has only played in six games- He'll be fine.

There is no excuse for comparing Pettiti to the coke head or the idiot blonde.

It is the really stupid over reactions and personal attacks on the players that is out of bounds.
Considering your first sentence, your point about personal attacks is a bit rich...

sign lecharles bentley to play center. we could have had fonoti too for guard depth. our ol needs soem depth next year and maybe some starters. next year we need an offensive overhaul like we had on the defense this year.

You realize Fonuti was up to 405 after breaking his wrist? Thats why he was sent packing....

Didnt realize that, however giving away nothing for a project is fine by me. especially a young project with pro bowl ability. How much was Pettitti up to before the draft? 390? Doesn't mean hes gonna be that way forever.

Not like I was expecting him to start over Rivera or Allen anyways this season, did u?

let me set the record straight.

i don't wear rose colored glasses nor do i take offense to negative posting. i know rob has worked extremely hard for this opportunity and will work even harder to improve his play. rob played poorly yesterday and those saying so are correct. however, he played pretty well the previous two weeks. i'm not worried about rob because he has already done more this year than i thought he would. i'm not bothered by those who say he is not the answer, i'm only concerned if parcells says he is not the answer at rt.

so please feel free to post whatever you like, but just remember rob is busting his butt to play the best he can. if that turns out to be sub par than i expect the team to make an adjustment which will hurt far worse than anything said here.

Great post.......So Rob had a sub par game...I say so what!....Name a NFL player who hasn't. I have no doubt Rob will work through it.

I read he showed up to the Vikes facility at 420. That's about 70 lbs over fat.

Allen to RT, Gurode or Peterman back to guard. It has to be done.

I agree. This team is playing about as I thought they would. They are young. They are going to lose games like this. It's part of the maturation process.

problem is that they are NOT young.

I don't know. Offensively, our LT, our Center and our RT are all young. All of our RBs are young. Defensively, our front 7 is extremely young. I just think it takes a little time to learn how to win in the NFL. Hell, even Roy and Newman haven't had the opportunity to really learn that yet.

Yesterday most of the bad mistakes were made by vets.

I agree with this, however, you look back at the course of the game and you see that it was a collective effort. No pressure on the Seattle offense in the last 5 minutes and execution offensively showed break downs by our young players as well. Next year will be better.

About the only player I can excuse his poor play for his youth is Petitti. Barber did very well except for the botched flea flicker pitch.

The other rookies did well or were not reasons why we lost. Our veterans (both Parcells imports) had the bloody hands.
