This has to be one of the embarrassing things that JJ has said.. and he has said so many.

What a fool to think we have any kind of plan.. if anything the Wentz/Dak situation sums up these two franchises perfectly. Dak bolts out of the gate.. Wentz starts a little slower but a weaker team. Wentz beats Dak head to head a couple of times. Wentz plays a very solid season and gets the eagles to the playoffs.. Foles plays an unbelievable six weeks of football and they win a ring. I'm not saying Wentz would have won it.. but for all the hate he gets.. he was playing very good football before the injury and did have the Eagles in the #1 seed. Anyway they bring Wentz back.. he is inconsistent at best and suffering because Eagles had lost a lot of vets. Dak is putting up better stats but not winning anything of note.

Eagles make the tough call on Wentz and trade him 'high' and bring in another rookie. They accept there may be 1-2 seasons of 'down' time and prepare for another push.
Cowboys sign Dak to a monster, monster, monster, franchise crippling contract because they think they are 'close'.

Yet another example of why the Dak contract was a big mistake but perfectly in keeping with this managements BS ideas of roster balance.

We could have easily traded Dak two years ago.. scooped up 2 first round draft picks and freed up a heap of salary cap. We would now be sitting here with a great defence.. another couple of stars on offence.. and a better balanced cap.

Jerry Jones is legit an idiot.
Great post .............THANKS!

Eagles are in the SB for the second time in the past 6 years and have a top 10 pick in this year's draft.

But yeah, lets mock them and tout our "long term plan" as being better.

Meanwhile the Cowboys will be starting year 28 without a Divisional round W..................that is just so sad and pathetic, but par for the course with Jerry and his idiot boy.

Kelce was the best C in football. Lane Johnson maybe best OLineman in football.

Neither are going anywhere next year...Lane J said he wants to play 3 more years for Philly.
Lane Johnson will be 33 next season. He’s been struggling with injuries in recent years. He is on his last contract and Roseman will draft his replacement in the upcoming draft. The rookie won’t start year one, but preparation to become the starter will. Kelce is a free agent and will consider signing a one year deal, but other teams out there will likely be able to offer him more, if he even want to play. Hurts, even if Philly loses the Super Bowl, is going to get a $ignificant contract.

jerry must of hit the bottle before that remark because there general manager gets them to the super bowl and still has a top 10 pick in the draft, i like how he skips around amari cooper. moron traded for him to help his 4 round scrub qb from looking like a moron like him and then traded him for a 5TH i bet the browns laughed all the way to the bank

Eagles won a superbowl, fell off a few years and now they are in another one... but we are thinking 'long term'. Maybe we will win one in 57 years.
They also have 2 1st round picks, including a top 10, and more cap room than we do. They didn’t go all in.

The long term plan of being good but not great is still working.

Do you think Philly goes all in on Hurts and maxes him out? Super Bowl winning QB would expect a huge payday. They did extended Wentz to a massive deal and saw how that played out. If Hurts leads them to a Super Bowl win, it would be interesting to see what the numbers would look like.

“That’s pretty impressive to have two teams in the last two years empty the bucket and get to the Super Bowl,” Jones said.

I don’t understand what he means by this. We have 6 picks in the first 2 rounds over the next 2 drafts, a pro bowl QB under 25, and an Oline that’ll be tops in the league for another 3-5 years, and 2 star WRs who are 24 and 25. If we lose some Defenisve guys this offseason Howie will just go out and get more, as he has over the last 6 seasons that amounted in 5 playoff appearances and 7 playoff wins. What bucket did we empty?
He doesnt know what he is talking about. He is completely out of touch with the workings of the league. The guy thought Chris Godwin plays defense.

Lane is currently hurt, but has only one game left before he can take care of the injury…but he’s still been the best RT in the league

Kelce’s replacement is already in the roster. Eagles would welcome him back if he still wanted to go another season, but Kelce will likely retire. Highly doubt he’d play for any other team at this point…even for a few more bucks

Good post and yep the Eagles know and are prepared to re-tool (a bit like the successful Pats teams).
....and yep, JJ is obsessed with his 'Stars' that sell jerseys. Much preferring the mediocre 'there or there about' stratagem.

This is what I predicted before last season.

I agree. If all things are equal then Dak is clearly better.

But, all things are not equal. The Eagles might have the best WR unit in the NFL now while the Cowboys got much worse.

The players around you matter a lot for some guys. As a Cowboys fan that's watched Dak for the past 6 years you should know this.

The gap between Dak and Hurts is getting more blurry by every good move the Eagles make and every bad move the Cowboys make.

Also, 2021 Dak was better than 2021 Hurts. That doesn't mean at all that 2022 Dak is better than 2022 Hurts. Who's to say Hurts doesn't make a big leap while Dak regresses?
Just call me MounatineerCowboydamus from now on. I called it from a mile away.

Thanks.

When you’re surrounded by sycophants and family members, you can easily convince yourself that what you are doing is right. Even if “your way” fails 28 consecutive times in a row.

Never believe that Jerry Jones wants to win a championship more than fans do. He wants to play football big shot way more than he wants to win a championship. If winning a championship were really everything, then he would remove any impediment to achieving that goal. He won’t do that because it isn’t as important as him being this team’s centerpiece.
