There's only so much you can spend on your OL guys, you have to keep the replacements fresh. I'm now in the camp we can get a guard in the first 3 rounds to replace Z Martin and let him walk. I think its the right move, but realize its a massive gamble.
After working so hard for so long to build a solid offensive line you want to dissolve it? You win football games in the trenches still and if you’re not solid up front you’re going to struggle. The Cowboys have worked all the offensive line contracts well as far as staggering them out and in anticipation of Martin. They’re going to sign him.

Romo being a one man show = 8-8.
Romo finally handing ball off to Murray = 12-4 and a playoff for win.

Should have been running more between 2011 and 2013 and we would have had more success.

You mean Garrett shouldn’t have been OC wasting Romo’s career.. we should have had Romo in game planning meetings way before with a real coach..

they rolled out, then teams adjusted. they had no counter but other teams figured out counter plays for us.

Because when you roll out, you limit yourself to half the field and your options. They also, in the empty sets, spread the WRs farther out with Dak in shotgun just to try and make it easier for him to keep everything in front of him.

Dak has to be a pocket QB.. OCs can only do so much..

About the same thing that Seattle did with R Wilson actually. Remember that? He was crazy good in pre-season his first year. Came out firing in the first half of his first year. Put it on his shoulders then backed off letting him be more of a "game manager". That term "game manager" makes QB seem less than what they should be. They should all manage the game well. Anyway, I digress, Wilson became more of a "game manager" with Beast mode becoming a bigger piece of the game. Wilson turned out OK too didn't he. Won a SB. Went to another losing only because of a bad play call by their OC. Put up big numbers last year, and what did he have to show for it, 9-7. I'll be ecstatic if Dak accomplishes what Wilson did, seeing that he's the main problem:rolleyes:

Russell Wilson had one of the all-time great defenses in the modern era where he could throw 5 INTs against a GB-team with Aaron Rodgers and still win.

Plus, Russell Wilson unlike Dak can throw downfield and has a rocket arm. He actually throws a lot into tight windows.

Dak is very conservative and takes very little risks inside the system, while he tends to do a little bit more out the picket on the run. But he also panics and bails on the pocket too soon.

Maybe, but even Romo needed protection and a running game. Not sure why our fans now act like Dak is special ed because he needs them too.

Because Dak actually has an all-pro line and running game since the beginning of which pretty much all of them played together for multiple years unlike Romo who had a center that couldn’t even call plays and an OC in Garrett who didn’t know jack about how to field a real running game and they lucked into Callahan because Houck retired and he rebuilt it all from scratch..

Who cares man. Romo couldn’t win without it. I know you can’t stand Dak but it is laughable Romo fans are pulling this crap. If someone made the argument Romo sucked you’d be pulling offensive line, no running game, and bad defense out to excuse him for not winning.

Obviously you care because your still taking about Romo and trying to liken an all-pro line that Dak has had from the very beginning with the garbage Romo worked with to defend Dak sailing passes wide over the head of WRs and throwing record pick 6s and holding Dallas records for not being able to score TDs for who knows how many quarters..

Totally irrelevant situations.. they weren’t in any way alike.. Garrett didn’t even allow Romo in game-planning and all of that was forced on top starting in 2013 when the changes started happening forced by Jerry..

Romo couldn’t win jack. Averaged 19 points when he season was on the line. His fault.

And of course Romo couldn’t win jack when Jason Garrett didn’t know how to adjust to a blitz and had free runners coming at his QB all game long..

We can play this game. All Romo has is stats. He has no scoreboard and plenty of failures and I know them all .

Still doesn’t matter..

Your analogies suck. Comparing what Dak had with what Romo has is garbage.

Dak has a competent OC from day 1 that had him use more play action in half a season than Romo used in a season with Garrett as OC.

Things only started changing when Jerry gave Romo the big contract in 2013. That’s why you see all the changes start to take place then including the beginning of the demotion of the buffoon Garrett who Jerry made a walk around HC in 2014 per his own words and said he wouldn’t touch the offense.

Romo was a cheap suit with the season on the line

And Dak couldn’t move the ball against third-stringer Eagles in the last game of the season while before the game telling us how important it was for him to play well..

And even Orton folded like a cheap suit with Garrett as an OC in Dallas and a playoff birth on the line, with Garrett calling close to forty pass plays..

And Dak throws record pick 6s in a season with an all pro line.. what’s your point?
Romo threw away seasons. Was a deer in headlights in 2008 agiant Philly and 2009 against Minnesota. He couldn’t handle the pressure. I bet Romo still has nightmares about those games. We needed a QB with experience, not some “awe shucks” Rudy Rutiger, feel good story. Needed a real leader with a back bone.

Dak had a 52% completion rate to Dez last year.
Dak had a 70% completion rate to everyone else.
Dez has the worst completion rate of any WR in the NFL over the last three years.

Seems like a case of additional by subtraction if you want to be Dak friendly.

He was such a deer in the headlights when he was actually in control with all the run-pass options when his concepts were actually implemented on offense without the buffoon Garrett as OC, that he was basically perfect in sub-zero temperatures in Lambeau against an undefeated at-home Green Bay..

Keep trying..
