Prime Romo would win the Super Bowl with the current Cowboys

Not sure whose fault it is, honestly. Just pointing out not utilizing the running game is not the same as not having a running game.
I know. Just thought I'd see what it's like to redirect an argument, instead of trying to make an actual point. (Certainly not directed at you..............and I feel kinda dirty now.)

Romo never had a Defense that was this good. He also never got to play with Zeke. Romo’s Quick release, sliding within the pocket, and Houdini escapability would make the o-line better. His accuracy would make Cooper, Beasley, and Gallup better. Too bad Dak makes receivers and the o-line worse.
moan about the past

LOL and in his prime had a stupidazz GM hiring Phillips and Garrett, trading 3 picks for RW, drafting Felix Jones , the special teams draft. Didn’t take Tyron til Romo was 32. It was a joke and people still blame the QB? One ridiculous decision after another through the meat of his career!
Oh ok. Romo deserves no blame for hightailing it to Mexico before the biggest game of his career with the most talented team possibly in the entire league, a game in which he laid a colossal egg btw.

Its still early in Daks career but if we don’t have any more success than this is his legacy going to be all about his sensational Rookie season.

Or do you think he might become the franchises all time leading rushing QB?

I’d be curious what some of the Dak slobberers expectations are?

What would it take to be as disappointed as they were with Romo? Lol

FYI-Romo wasn’t even starting yet at this stage in Dak’s career.

Romo has won 1000 Hypothetical Super Bowls

Dont know why he couldn't win one with this team

Because Romo's pay check ate up so much of the salary cap, the rest of the team was nothing special.

Room had his chance with some good to solid teams. Couldn't string along enough wins to take the team to the playoffs.

Just for good measure...

Romo Era Top Receiver Yards (Rank)
2015 - 43 (Williams)
2014 - 9 (Dez)
2013 - 16 (Dez)
2012 - 12 (Dez)
2011 - 32 ( Witten)
2010 - 17 (Austin)
2009 - 3 (Austin)
2008 - 18 (Owens)
2007 - 5 (Owens)
2006 - 7 (Owens)

Dak Era Top Receiver Yards (Rank)
2016 - 35 (Dez)
2017 - 36 (Dez)
2018 - 45 (Beasley)

Romo's best season in his career was ironically the same year we had a very good O line and the Cowboys best season ever by a RB. When he wasn't expected or relied on to carry the team.
And here's the thing, who gives a ****? That's how a team succeeds. If that offense had this defense it very well may have gone further. Take Romo out. If Prescott had that offense and this defense he could very well go further. See how that works?

Dak does not make people worse. We Arent playing to his strength if we let him rpo rollout and bootleg he could be top 10

With that said im sorry Romo couldnt win with this team because he cant make up for bad coaching

Romo going to Mexico didn't make Crayton drop that pass late in the final drive... It also didn't make Anthony Henry wiff on old man Amani Toomer giving the Giants a long gift TD right before the end of the 1st Half. Plus the Giants might have just been better than us, their defense was certainly better than ours, and the Giants did win the Superbowl that year, so it's not like we lost to a mediocre team...

Love Romo, but he didn't even lead us to an NFC Championship.

He had a chance... 2016 was the year for him to state his case to Jerry and co.
He should have done whatever it took and fought to be put back in.

It probably would have ripped the team apart. He took one (a huge one) for the team.

sure lets blame him when it was the fluff HC hired by the crap GM who told them to go in the first place. Who else was there? There was obviously no plans to practice. You think a quality HC does that? The GM was a Jackazz pretty much for the duration of the guys career. You could blame the QB but I expect the hire ups to make real decisions, not bring in inexperienced coaches right out of the gate. Parcells left a quality team and Jerry quickly turned it to crap. But lets blame the QB in his first full season. Where was the assistant HC/offensive genius at that time? He still disappears 12 years later.

Didn't read the thread, just skimmed the first post.

There is no bigger Romo fan than me, but we don't have prime Romo. We don't have young Romo, old Romo or any Romo at all unless he's calling the game for CBS. For the record, I think we'd have a great shot with a prime Romo at QB - but if we're going to do that why not go through the whole list of past QBs?

Romo - yes
Bledsoe - maybe
Testaverde - maybe
Carter - no
Hutchinson - no
Stoerner - no
Henson - no
Wright - no
blah blah blah

Staubach - yes
White - yes
Aikman - yes
Meredith - probably
Lebaron - probably not

We've had quite a few QBs who could have won with this current group. The problem is that they're gone and the guy who's here most likely isn't on that list. None of our great or very good QBs are magically regaining their youth and coming back to play for us, so we'd better just get used to what we have - for better or worse.
