There could also be offset language in the contract that would reduce the cap hit even more.

Sure there could be ... Unfortunately still isn't happening ... It's time for all to just accept unfortunately and move on...

Pass we don't need Murray, get over it already.

My point exactly why bring back a guy who spent more time away from the field due to injury only to become
a 1 hit wonder? kinda defeats the purpose eh, go backwards in order to go forward I say no thank you Mr
Murray can rot in Philadelphia with 5 year 42 million contract

Well we needed Murray last year. I don't want to hear about McFadden. Yes he did better that many thought he would do but the Cowboys still couldn't run the ball down people's throats like last year. McFadden would be a good backup. Having said that I think it's best now to draft a young RB who could do what Murray did.

Murray leads the league in rushing as a Cowboy in 2014.

Murray finishes 27th in the league in rushing as an Eagle in 2015.

Murray leads the league in rushing as a Cowboy in 2016.

While the rest of our fellow folks gyrate over the possiility, you already know.

McFadden did all that without Romo or dez in the lineup. Stop acting like he had everything set up golden like murray did. When we played the cardinals without Romo murray was absolutely pedestrian

I knew someone was going to say that. lol Romo may not have gotten hurt if Murray had stayed. Romo got hurt throwing like crazy because the running game wasn't working that great in the first 2 games. We were lucky to win those games too.

Oh well it is time to move on. Nothing can be done about that now. Time to find our next great RB.

No.

All of DeMarco Murray's remaining signing bonus proration ($4M) would escalate and remain on Philadelphia's 2016 salary cap, but the running back's guaranteed base salaries in '16 and 2017 would be assumed by the team trading for him.

Murray has an $8M cap number this year and the Eagles would actually save $4M (plus the cost of a new contract replacing Murray) by trading the disappointing rusher.

The new team would then have Murray's contract, including a fully guaranteed $7M base salary in 2016 and $2M of his $7.5M base salary in 2017.

However, if Murray is on the roster the third day of the '17 NFL league year (in March), another $3M of his base salary that season becomes guaranteed and he will earn a $500K roster bonus.

2018 and '19 also have $500K roster bonuses and each year of the contract contains performance escalators tied to rushing yards.

I don't like that contract.

Murray is good at everything while being great at nothing. I like him better than Darren McFadden, but would prefer to add someone else in free agency and/or the draft.

Dam, the Eagles got took to the cleaners with that contract.

Hell of a lot of guaranteed money on that contract to let the player sit on the bench all season................no wonder the Chipster got fired.

I love all the people that are acting like the FO knew what they were doing at RB.

They just conveniently forget Randle and that they panicked and traded for CMike because they had soooooo much faith in DMC. McFadden didn't show anything for the first 4 weeks or so and only did OK once Randle was cut. Some plan.
