Well just reported he says he wants to return. I'd post the link but this dude doesn't deserve the effort. Off to the traitor zone.

Thank you! That idiot left something good for mo, mo, mo money and the "best place to win a Superbowl". That bastid cannot live on 6 mil a year, oh no, he has to feed his family so he needs 2 more mil a year or his family will starve!

And, now he wants to come back because he does not like Philly or whatever? Screw him!

If the player isn't giving you anything, you're not losing anything. Murray was a horrible fit in Philly and it seems like his attitude has soured to the point where not even a regime change will make him a good fit.

It was undoubtedly a bad fit with Chip Kelly's offense and how he used Murray, but I expect Pederson to have at least one season for himself to find out whether he can use him or not. I just can't see the front office telling him we're releasing Murray and also taking $13 million off your cap room this year, welcome to Philly coach!

Cut Murray this year or cut him next offseason, the cap consequence is exactly the same over the 2 year span. If a guy can't produce for you, or if he's a malcontent, what's the point in waiting? Zero net gain in what way? Getting rid of a piss poor attitude would seem like a solid gain, IMO. Especially if everything else is equal.

I don't think two years = one year, in terms of the implications this year cap wise, and the accompanying backlash. Not to mention do you want to set a precedent of having malcontents walk away while keeping their money? I didn't like it when we let Ratliff and Orton get away with it.

As for a black eye on the franchise, I doubt Philly's front office would even care. Who's judging them anyway? The public?

Yes. The ticket-paying, merchandise-buying public. A fanbase that's decidedly down after the whole Chip Kelly fiasco. I'm not sure that cutting your big free agent after just one year and taking a salary cap hammering would do much to lift their spirits.

Much like late last year when Murray started chirping, possibly in an attempt to get out and keep his money, I don't expect much to come of it this year.

I presently live in the Philly market, I can tell you the fanbase here hates him. Just read some of the comments out there from Eagle fans based on this story and you will see.

Since Chip is gone, he really is the poster child of everything that went wrong with that franchise last season.

If the Eagles made him a June 1st cut and came out even, I don't think anyone would care. He had a MVP for the team you love the most and now he is an epic bust for your team, I guarantee you the fans don't have feelings for him and won't care if they wipe their hands clean of that disaster.

The next RB that will be suiting up for the Cowboys ran the ball for the University of Arkansas last season.

Or Ohio State ... or Alabama .... or La Tech .... or Utah .... or some other school.

DMac had nice stats, but he was not an impact player IMO. Murray could grind the lock down. DMac is one of 20 RBs that could have accumilated the stats behind this line. He plays with little power and is easy to tackle. I will go ahead and say it, he needs to be upgraded. Dallas was really lucky that DMac stayed healthy. I doubt it happens two years in row. I am not for Murray returning, but I would like to see a young , power RB drafted.

I hate when people point out McFadden was "top 5 in rushing" when its clear the league has changed andd the number of 1000 yard rushers dropped immensely

I made a mistake by return I meant he wants to return to the iggles...you and I are on the same page though man...tried to go back and edit that and add where he said he wants to return but it's to late

If anything---that should make being a 1,000 yard rusher that more impressive.

Regardless, I understand being questionable against McFadden but I won't take anything away from his season, he was the best player on our offense. If he had a low YPC, I would get it but he had one of the better YPC in the league for backs with significant carries.

As bad as it pains me to say Elliot will not be a Cowboy. To early to take at 4 and long gone before 34.

Mcfadden was 4th in the league in rushing this year and didn't start for almost a month of the season, correct?

We're paying him around a million a year if that vs Murray getting 7 or 8 mill?

Come on.. He's not coming back here.

Sigh....

Come on Catch! Your love affair with Dmac is as sad as the JG lovers. Yes he was 4th in rushing etc, but he's nothing more than a stopgap. Murray's style is totally different. He's a punisher. It rubs off on everyone. We had an identity finally from this crappy offense and we blew it! I don't understand why people don't get that.

I would LOVE to see Murray back here in Dallas. But, it's just not going to happen.

Plus there were 10 or so better backs that missed significant time to injuries, which is the big irony with DMC.

Lynch, Bell, Charles, Forte, Ingram, Hyde, CJohnson, McCoy, Blount and Murray are all better RBs.

The YPC for DMAC was excellent, he was a good back for us in a bad offense. I do wish to upgrade though but I will not try to discredit his season.

I would also take him over CJohnson or Blount FWIW.

For all the hype Johnson gets by Cowboy fans, McFadden was far better....better YPC and just as many touchdowns, this is while McFadden was on the worst offense in the league and Johnson was on the best.
