You're killing me. Are we talking about the website(s) being biased because their focus is films? I would get that. Using that notion, CowboysZone is bias about the Dallas Cowboys, which is understandable.

What I'm referring to is the "Critics concensus". That crap reads like it was the best superhero movie ever made. There's no way whoever wrote that wasn't biased in some way.

I kinda see where you are coming from. The only thing I would suggest is that the writer attempted to sum up what the group of critics said in their reviews in an itty-bitty paragraph. Maybe he or she captured what the overall critics thought of the film. Perhaps not. He or she tried though.

It's the part about "elevating superhero cinema to new heights" that really gets me. The most exciting part of the movie was the tech gadgets, not the superhero himself. His personality was bland, and without the boost from the plant, he was pretty easily defeated by an ordinary human.

Maybe....or maybe it's just one person's opinion, expressed as though it's actually a consensus of multiple critics.....or maybe he cherry picks the critics whose opinions he wants to paraphrase. I just don't see how any unbiased critic can be so over the top about a slightly better than average film.

That’s why I bailed on it so fast. Each time he took off his mask,I was like ...”I’m just not buying into this.” Like relax and put some personality into it people. It felt so subdued and monotone.

I know what a consensus is, as opposed to a unanimous opinion. I saw the movie, and I've seen all the other Marvel movies, and Black Panther wasn't nearly as good as the majority of them, IMO.

You do know if you were a paid critic and allowed your own review to be included and graded by Rotten Tomatoes that the critics consensus write up that we are discussing would have still remained unchanged?

Discarded? No. No critics' reviews are ever discarded on the sites and are available for visitors to read. Do you consider paid critics' negative reviews on the film that are posted on Rotten Tomatoes were discarded?

I am saying he would not have ignored your critique just as he did not ignore the other similarly negative critiques by paid critics posted on Rotten Tomatoes. Again, consensus can mean either most or all. The written critics consensus reflects what most of the paid critics said in their reviews.

Father Figures - Ed Helms Owen Wilson...I only got to the part where they met bradshaw and rhames. Maybe I was just not in the mood to watch it but for whatever reason I just could not go on.
Just did not seem to do it for me. If someone else has seen it and it gets much better after that point, let me know and maybe I will give it a try again later.

Wife and I watched it last night. We both loved it. I love that kind of humor tho. I loved the movie Sideway and people I know and recommended it to hated it. There were a couple of scenes that were a little slow but there were a few scenes later in the movie that had me laughing so hard I had to back up and watch them again because i might have missed something. I actually laughed until I cried on a couple of the scense. Maybe I was just in the mood and needed to laugh but we loved it. I have always like Owen Wilson and it was his typical Wedding Crasher type character. It will be one of those movies I catch again while channing surfing and watch certain scenes.
