One time doesn't equal history of violence. No need to stretch the truth to get a point across.
One time getting caught.

Who's going to supply the conjugal visit?
You don't have proof of other times or do you? If not its one time no amount of assuming can make it true. Stick to the facts we know not made up stuff we don't know either wayOne time getting caught.
Harvey Martin was convicted of assault including the felony kind. Demetrius Underwood and Alonzo Spellman were schizophrenic and were found aggressive vagrant in the streets when not medicated. Haley was a well known sociopath. That whole 90s team was known for soliciting illegal prostitution, drugs and similar exploitation. Tuinei robbed a tourist. There is a whole bevy of assaults over the years. Most recent I can think of is drunk Melton biting a bouncer while being bounced. Keith Davis was involved in multiple shootings.
But you draw the line at assault on women.
One time doesn't equal history of violence.
Not in the sense most people use it in but be obtuse if you must to be "right"He has a history now and it's on video.

He's getting interest or so its been reported
Yeah you usually have to do something more than once hence why even you said yourself "you don't have to have a lengthy track record to have a history" I don't guess on stuff like this. I know the facts of this are we know one time so unless you have proof that he does/did this all the time I'm not adding extra stuff on just because. A person can actually easily be knocked out and it was more the railing than the punch. I'm not really defending what he did but its already bad enough without folks adding all these things they don't know about just because its not them. I doubt you'd want to do something bad and then have people add well I guess they've been doing whatever it was.You don't have to have a lengthy track record to have a history. I would guess by how Rice handled himself in that elevator that wasn't the first time he's roughed up a woman. Things escalate from pushing/grabbing to hitting/punching. Rarely will the first time a man lays an unfriendly hand on a woman be with a knockout punch. It usually starts with little things like grabbing and pushing.
Instead of going after peterson or spending a first round pick on a rb, why isn't Ray Rice a good football option? he's only 28, he can run btw the tackles, pass block and catch out of the backfield and can probably be had for less years (like 1 year), less guaranteed (like veteran's minimum) and less risk than a drafted rookie running back.
So the only thing I can see people having apprehension with is the domestic violence issue. But as far as a team that had enough faith to keep josh brent and sign greg hardy, it seems like a moot point to me. Unless it's too much baggage to handle? thoughts?

Like I said when people say a history they don't mention one time either. You can play obtuse all you want but you rarely if ever hear people say a person with one incident of something has a history of something. People will say Mayweather has a history of DV but not Rice. Honestly I didn't mention anything about second chances even though if he does its he's right so I don't care about that part.Like I said he has a history now and it's on video. Once was enough to ruin his career I don't see any second chances for him in the NFL this incident became too big and affected too many people. A lot of women don't report abuse so all we can do is speculate and I take guesses. Based off what I saw in the video and what's been proven about those who've abused women it usually doesn't start with a knockout punch. As I mentioned it starts small with grabbing/pushing and it escalates. No way do I believe that was the first domestic incident between the two but it's the first one that's been made public. It's obvious from the video Rice has major anger issues and what he did was impulsive. He obviously can't control himself and it cost him him his NFL career.
It doesn't matter if it was the punch or the fall that knocked her out either way he would have been facing a murder charge had she died. You could shove someone and if they fall and hit their head and die you'll be booked for murder. A person has to have some serious issues to punch a woman like that and risk killing or seriously injuring them. She could have suffered brain damage but he obviously didn't care. No way would I want Ray Rice representing the Dallas Cowboys.
A lot of players over the years have been charged with assault including assaulting women but we didn't have a video of what actually happened. Had there been no video of what went down in that elevator between Rice and his girlfriend he would have served his original suspension, would likely still be with the Ravens and this would have all blown over but the video changed everything. It changed things for the Ravens and the league. It turned the NFL world upside down and could have cost Goodell his job. It forced him to do an about face and the league had to change it's policy. The video ruined Ray Rice's career and the life he once knew. Video/audio evidence has ruined the careers of several prominent people over the years. People who don't follow the NFL and never heard of Ray Rice know him for one thing punching the crap out of his girlfriend in an elevator.
That incident went way beyond ESPN and NFLN it reached all the networks. The entire nation saw the video and Rice will never be able to escape it. Saying he's sorry isn't going to undo the damage that was done to his career and the league. Everywhere he goes people give him a cockeyed look. People have died from punches not just from the punch but from striking their head from the fall. Rice came off like a cold blooded thug in that elevator. Most rational people would panic after something like that but he didn't look concerned in the least as his girlfriend lay there. His reaction afterwords was as disturbing as the actual assault. For Ray Rice's sake he better hope he saved his money because his life after football won't be very lucrative. Can't believe some Cowboy fans/FANS want him to be apart of America's Team tarnishing the star on the helmet.
