White playing size 6'4 258

Haley playing size 6'6 255

Randy Gregory 6'6 240

If you want an argument for why Haley was flattened, size isn't your arguement, Haley was **** faced.

Gregory is quicker than both and would have both of their hands full in a fight during their primes. A sober Haley goes berserk and rips them both to shreds, imo.
Charles was listed most of his career at 6-5 235, and he has even said he was 235.

And he was later diagnosed with Bipolar disorder.

I think Gregory wanting to fight Haley is a sign of his (Gregory's) bi-polar condition. Folks who are bi-polar will turn on you in the blink of an eye if they're not on their medication.

Jerry is a soft target for millennials.....people forget that young athletes are still the same snowflakes out there that can't accept the elections.....star athletes are even more coddled than regular students....not a surprise that RGregory can't deal in the real world and I don't buy the whole bi-polar excuse

Haley would eat Gregory's ear, then make Raman noodles.

All the TEs or Gregory?
:laugh:all of the above.

Good point on the TEs. What we passed up for Escobar was criminal.

The very next player taken was LeVeon Bell...followed by several more Pro Bowlers soon after..

it happens...just hate to blow it that bad so early in the draft.

Haley was the guy whipping out his junk in people's faces and during meetings so... it's not about maturity, it's about the desire to play the game or not.

Gregory doesn't seem to want to play

True I know all of that, the league is by far more strict now than it ever was

They babied Dez and had a full-time "guardian" for him. It worked for him.

But I think the difference is that Dez truly loves football and wanted to be successful and accepted.

Gregory obviously doesn't. You have a guy offering to let you stay at his house (a HOF pass rusher, no less), and you still choose to smoke weed.

Mental issues or not, you only get so many chances.

That needs to be a reality TV show. I'd definitely watch it.

Completely disagree. On a number of counts.

First, his issue goes beyond an "antiquated, out-of-date marijuana policy". First, use of the drug recreationally is illegal in the overwhelming majority of the states in the country. Having a policy against the use of a drug that brings criminal charges if busted is not a problem. In fact, it's the right thing to do. The NFL's policy allows you to fail three tests before it impacts a player financially, and four before it impacts playing time - re: eligibility. The reasoning is to create programs to rehab players without immediately casting them aside. It certainly isn't the industry standard around the country to be lenient for failures of drug tests. At the places where I work/have worked, if I failed the drug test coming in, I would not have been hired.

The larger issue is not something as narrow as the policy. The issue with Gregory is one of an inability to follow rules and an inability to discipline himself. The policy, at its core, is a simple rule of the workplace. In the NFL, so long as you aren't in the system, you are subject to one test per year, which is done during the time between the draft and the first minicamp. This test is known as the Idiot Test. You literally have to stay clean for one month, then you can smoke up all of Jamaica once you have taken the test. All you have to do is be disciplined, and it can be done. Gregory couldn't do this before he was drafted, and he didn't have money at stake. What would make anyone think that he would suddenly end up disciplined when he wasn't before he got the paycheck?

If you can't follow the rules, you end up firing yourself.

My first posts addresses your second paragraph. I agree, Gregory should have known better. Perhaps I should have phrased my thoughts differently, separate from Gregory.

Actually, Plankton, I agree with your whole post. I fail to see where my first post, namely, goes against it. You further delved into the nuances of Gregory as it pertains to federal law and the workplace.

Either way, Plankton. I agree with your post and still stand by mine. Respectfully, brother.

I'm a millennial, completely and utterly dislike Jerry Jones, and thinks that R Gregory should know better than to smoke weed.

Let's not dump whole generations into categories, B. All or nothing statements do nothing for an argument. Respectfully, bro, you know how much I respect your opinion. That's why I was offended, more than the "millennial" remark. If you care. :)

Randy Gregory is "toxic," whether it's due to your guys' and gals' opinion or mine. I'm sure we can all agree.

What I don't like is that he is causing the kinds of debates amongst the very best posters here (NOT including myself in that, many of you guys bring much more than myself) on a weekly basis, here at the Zone.

I respectfully bow out and will refrain from further debating this (unless I'm replied to). I love this community too much to cause friction over Randy fricken Gregory.

Millennial is a state of mind not an age........from what I know you served this country so that automatically eliminates you from that whiny group I see on TV every night....RGregory obviously can't deal with reality and has chosen weed over a real future, that is on him......I just think Jerry is developing this blind spot where he thinks these guys are his family......they aren't.......they are a football team that is paid to be loyal.......remove the carrot and the loyalty is gone....just business

He signed a 4 year deal and as long as he is suspended, you don't have to pay him or have any cap ramifications. You might as well hold onto him until that deal is up to see if he ever straightens his life out. If he doesn't, you cut him and you haven't lost anything. If you cut him now, you run the risk that 2 or 3 years from now he's recording 12 sacks in another uniform.

yea, that doesn't bother me to be honest

Thanks Mugsy, but when you have folks like @Plankton and @bkight13 in here, I am a mere peasant still in learning. :)

Speaking of a great poster (with an equally awesome avatar), I still appreciate the compliment, Mugs. My brudda. Thank you, mang.
You are already top 20 in Likes and climbing like a rocket, well done

Doesn't mean I hold a candle stick to the knowledge that folks like you and Plankton have. I'm in my early thirties and just started becoming a student of the game. Some of you have been students for a decade plus.

My 'likes received' are indicative of my fanaticism and wackiness, I believe. Yours are from indepth takes. I always "like" your posts, B (unless you're in an argument :)), same with Plankton. Both of you will always have me in your corners. True football minds. There are so many here, but I digress.

I have the utmost respect for the football minds, almost sevants, of this site. But I digress (again, grrr:)) that's why I won't let Gregory put a wedge between my postings and my favorite posters.
