Jerry makes the impossible happen….like keeping FlusI am leaning towards a young, innovative type like Adams, but for the defense. I don't think there is any chance, Eberflus survives.

This has been the issue, refuses to hire a football guy to run his team. He has become Al Davis.Money isn’t the issue. A real plan with a real GM to carry it out is the issue. I’m convinced there are guys here who could do a better job than Jerry. He’s not an idiot but his ego controls his thinking. He won’t let a real football guy make the decisions that need to be made
If you hire a HC, you should allow him to hire/fire his assistants. Eberflus was handpicked by Jerry for Schott. Eberflus has struggled, but these players cannot get a free pass for their lack of success.Jerry makes the impossible happen….like keeping Flus
I expect them to fail at executing because they aren’t very good.Eberflus deserves blame, but these players also have to take accountability for their poor play. There are times when you see the perfect call, yet they fail to execute. First play at Carolina for example, called a run blitz and Thomas flat out misses the tackle, gain of 9 yards.
SPAGS OR FLORES.We need an aggressive DC.
People name options please..
Problem is, when you change DC's every year, you get players that fit another system or scheme. Our defensive personnel is pretty much geared to play in Dan Quinn's defense, not the one Eberflus wants to run. He has tried to alter his scheme, but has had similar results cause the lack of talent.I expect them to fail at executing because they aren’t very good.
I’ll take that.
What I don’t expect is for them to be absolutely clueless what to do & where to be.
You read my mind! Thanks for posting this.As I wrote in a response yesterday, here are the only players that are keepers next season, either based on contracts or recent draft picks:
Ez, Kneeland, Osa, Clark, Marist, James, Overshown, Bland, Revel.
Everyone else needs is replaceable. You can get cap savings with June 1 releases of both Diggs, Hooker.
1) need to find with right DC, right scheme moving forward and stick with it. Cannot keep on firing your DC every offseason and have the players learning and fitting into a new scheme. Hire a DC and add players that fit his style of defense.
2) must use all resources, fa, draft and trade market to improve the overall talent.
3) try to accumulate as many draft picks as possible, perhaps trading back to add more selections. They need a draft like the one Parcells had when we had two first rd picks: Ware, Spears, Burnett, Canty, Ratliff.
4) must stop targeting all world athletes, but rather high IQ, instinctive football players.
That’s always a sign of a bad coach.Problem is, when you change DC's every year, you get players that fit another system or scheme. 21 million saved right there with Diggs is another 15 millionKenny Clark has been bad and is set to make $21.5M next year. There’s no future on this team for him. Admit the terrible mistake and just move on after the year.
Never understood the OSA hype. Guy is an overpaid JAG. It was terrible contract from the start. You are stuck with Osa next season due to his contract. Kneeland is still developing but his time is starting to shrink, has to make an impact next season.
I understand coaches have to play to their player's strengths, but he has tried everything with similar results. No doubt, he will be replaced, but many of the players need to go as well. That’s always a sign of a bad coach.
Coaches who can’t adjust to players because of their scheme are bad coaches.
Marinelli needing Taco instead of TJ Watt is my favorite example of this.
The problem is...they have been drafting defense. Their evaluations have not been great. Giving them more first round picks is like giving a gambler a million dollars and asking them to bank it. I say use some picks on an established young defensive stud from another team. A proven talent. No more using all those picks for defensive draft help. Sam Williams, Mazi Smith, Taco Charlton, Jaylan Smith etc....Fix the defense in three steps.
1. Get rid of Eberflus
2. Draft all Defense in 2025
3. Fill in the gaps in FA
Kneeland isnt developing he has 1 sack and cant stop the run, he is a bustYou are stuck with Osa next season due to his contract. Kneeland is still developing but his time is starting to shrink, has to make an impact next season.
The team is probably going to remain average. The Cowboys are making a ton of money with Dak. To improve the Joneses have to get out their comfort zone. With eventual improvement of Washington and New York the Camp years are coming sooner or later. If they stay this course, expect Dave Campo years post Dak
Dak is Romo. Jerry lucked into a franchise quarterback. Unlike Aikman where there was a plan for number 8.With zero defense, expect pretty much the same, but when Dak leaves the franchise is picking inside the top 5 again.
Lately they have been more concerned with RAZ and other scores rather than guys making plays and being in the right spot. Murray was a RAZ guy so was Elam and Williams. I am about done with RAZ guy'sagreed 1000x
