Well, he wants a bigger, long term deal. No team is calling. Dallas is offering the veteran minimum. He's not thrilled.

No he doesn't. Who said he wants a bigger long term deal? Did he come out and say that somewhere? Not to my knowledge. Fisher is the only one implying that. So by into this Fisher guy. He doesn't know what is going on like he didn't know what was going on with Murray or Hardy.

Are you kidding? So why hasn't he signed? What player doesn't want that?

He thought he had played himself into a meaty contract, but teams shriveled up when the arson case and the positive drug tests came out. Now, he's cornered into signing for backup linebacker money.

Read the last post on the previous page as to why he hasn't signed. Also why hasn't he signed anywhere besides Dallas because he isn't getting the offers or doesn't want to sign with any other team. You can't just say the reason he hasn't signed is because he wasn't more money. That isn't true at all.

Well, I hope so. But it's really strange that he won't just sign it then.

This is one odd duck.

He is odd. That's one thing we can agree on about this. The guy walked away at age 23. Well I guess that's not so crazy anymore with players quitting(Borland, Locker, etc) but back then that was very odd.

Please let this be true an 3-4 year deal so i can buy his jersey. I am so glad I held off on the Murray Jersey last year.

I got the Murray jersey for xmas and will wear it proudly he was a great player for the boys. It was just a business decision the boys made nothing about the person.

They could just give him a larger signing bonus and low base salary.

But I'm pretty sure Dallas gets credit back against the cap for the fine, so it might benefit them more to do the deal normal like.

I was trying to think of a way to keep Ro motivated by creatively structuring the contract to make the fine as small as possible while also keeping incentives in that would motivate him to play in as many games in a row as possible.

I wouldn't want to give Ro a big signing bonus at this point in his return plus making the bonus the bulk of his pay undermines the idea of keeping him motivated to play each week by earning his pay as he goes

How about this.

2 million dollar base salary with 1 million of it guaranteed.
1/2 million dollar of season workout bonus.
1/2 million dollar training camp practice bonus. No practice, no pay.
1/2 million dollar in season practice bonus. No practice, no pay.
1 million dollars if he leads the team in tackles.
1/2 million dollars if he leads the team in pass deflections.
2 million dollar game day active 45 injured or not.

I would structure his contract to look something like this. It would allow him to make up to $7 million range and most likely would allow him to get around 5-6 million for the first season. I also wouldn't mind to see a player option (3 year deal for 22 million with 10 million guaranteed) if he hit a certain amount of these incentives, say $6 million. Not sure they do this much if ever but you could bet your *** it would get him motivated. Obviously the practice, workout bonus and game day active roster would break down to daily or weekly.
What do you guys think of something like this?

Remember Ro got his already pretty much. He was a first rd pick back when they got the BIG bucks.

I seen that contract, it was crazy but he knows this is the only time he can make $. If he didn't want more money he would have never had his abandoned house burned down.

and you know he did this how? wow just wow.

Come on man. A house that was on the market for soooooo long in an area where nobody would even sniff around the asking price. For sure this was planned. He won't get caught unless someone rats him out but he still did it.

You want to pay McClain 5-7m for next year. No way.

Not when Lee is earning 2.5m and 3m for the next 2 years.

McClain isn't worth much at this point. Too many issues.

Dude, if we ended up paying out 5-7 million we would have a top 5 defense.

how about this bkight...
125 tackles
12 tackles for loss
2 sacks
2 ints
2 forced fumbles
2 fumbles recovered
10 pass defensed

You wouldn't pay 7 million for that? There's something wrong with you then.

Tim McMahon was on with Fitzsimmons yesterday saying that he, Ro is taking care of some personal business and told his agent once he gets it done he will get the contract squared away.

Said he only wants to play for us!
Anyone else hear this?

We are only in the Base D 50% of the snaps. Lee is back and Hitchens is improving. Brinkley isn't bad for a run stopper. That is way too much to give to a rotational guy at this point.

McClain isn't going anywhere, he could pull an Alonzo Spellman at any second.

I've always thought it's Cowboys or bust for him. But I don't know if I want him with Hardy on the roster. You have to be careful adding too many head cases on your roster.

Are you just making up numbers, because RoMc has never done that
