Are you kidding? So why hasn't he signed? What player doesn't want that?

He thought he had played himself into a meaty contract, but teams shriveled up when the arson case and the positive drug tests came out. Now, he's cornered into signing for backup linebacker money.

I actually think its more of the concussion that is scaring team away. MLB might be most violent position on field.

I can understand why Dallas would want to sign him, the guy is damaged good inthe NFL, meaning i dont think a team will take a chance on him. But he's a dirt cheap talent that nobody else wants. So signing him makes sense in that front. But he was the reason Eberflus never knew who were going to be his starting Lbers every week, because there was always something with this guy.

We are only in the Base D 50% of the snaps. Lee is back and Hitchens is improving. Brinkley isn't bad for a run stopper. That is way too much to give to a rotational guy at this point.

He is a WAY better pass defender than Hitchens. He is clearly a 4 down linebacker and now it is clear you are reaching.

Yep. I think he had two in a row late last year. In an off-season where a Hall of Fame LBer and a future All Pro LBer on the same team retired still in their prime, I don't think anyone is taking head injuries lightly.

He was reliable until he started suffering concussions. How was there something always with him? People are so fickle. When McClain first started playing, people were saying we should get rid of Sean Lee. A few concussions later people are saying we should replace him with guys like Brinkley.

You want to pay McClain 5-7m for next year. No way.

Not when Lee is earning 2.5m and 3m for the next 2 years.

McClain isn't worth much at this point. Too many issues.

Don't look at base salaries to compare contracts.

Come on man!

I was never one of them guys. I have always said the team shouldnt trust him. He's been unreliable since his days at Alabama. What we saw this yr, flashes on great play but inability to finish most games, or unwillingness, and never participating in practices for some reason or another has been his M.O since college.

I respect that. I liked him when he played though. I figured he was just getting back into the physical grind having been out of football for so long. I like the guy but I still don't trust him. Mentally he's a loose cannon. But people are sleeping on his play. The guy is a top talent.

Why his everyone saying he had two concussions? I'd say he had one concussion that probably never healed completely.

If you sprain your ankle this week, and then tweak it again next week, did you have two ankle sprains?

medically they would separate the concussions and grade each one.

I would like him back on something similar to the deal Durant got when he signed here as his base. 2 years around 2 million total, with 400k signing bonus. Give him a 100k workout bonus, another 200k active game day bonus at 12 games and another 100k for 16 games. That would give him another potential 500k annually. If the team wanted to include some performance incentives it could, but much more than this, and I would let him walk/retire.

Lee only had a 10m signing bonus on a 6 year extension. The base is all that there is once the guaranteed money is gone.
So what you're saying is Lee got more money to sign his name a few years ago then we'd be giving Ro hypothetical in total for this coming year?

Exactly my point. Don't judge contracts based on current year salary.

Sean Lee is averaging 7 million a year. Even if you remove the last two years as fake years. It still averages around 7.
