Purely as a DC, Rivera is probably better than Quinn. My concern with Rivera would be its been so long since he has been a DC

Rivera was the head coach, not the DC. He had, as does any head coach, lots of other responsibilities to have total control over the defense, only so much he could do.

I'd be ok with Rivera as the DC...

I like the DC from the Giants. He had an up and down year last year with limited talent. But put together some pretty good games. I'd like to see what he could do with his aggressive style and this talent

Norv was 39 when hired as the OC. That's young for a OC. How old was Kellen Moore when he was made the OC?

I don't think age has a lot to do with who Jerry hires.
