it is not a natural football play,
If it occurs during the process of a natural play, then fine. But to line up like that is not natural.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. I feel teams should be able to stop it. But if someone gets hurt doing it then it should be banned.
That's where I stand. I think there's danger when you have all those bodies mashing together in a scrum, but until someone gets hurt, I have no proof that it's any more dangerous than a regular QB sneak.

If you ban this then why not ban any ball player getting pushed? Like when teams push their running back or receivers to the endzone or first down
That used to be illegal.

I think the way to do it is to say that the play is dead and forward progress stopped any time an offensive player pushes or assists the runner. That way you don't have to "ban" any specific play or assess an unsportsmanlike penalty on a borderline judgement call. You just say, "play is dead, forward progress stopped" as soon as an offensive player makes any attempt to push or pull the ballcarrier.

Then why haven't other teams adopted it?
Some have tried, but either they don't have the QB to run it or they are running it wrong. The Eagles' backfield blockers get in there tight behind Hurts and shove hard trying to drive him forward. Most of the others I've seen do not have those backfield blockers do that. They may push a little or put their hands on the QB for support, but they do not try to drive him through the defense.

Honest question, and this is for everyone in favor of banning it, if we were the ones who came up with this play and were having the kind of success the Eagles are, would you be in favor of banning it?

Stupid

I don’t love the play, but I’m sick of this league and it’s tyrant banning something every time a player gets hurt or a teams gets an advantage. How about someone stop it instead of changing the rules?

I’ll never have any respect for that man. He’s a snake.

The play is pretty lame tbh.

Boring to watch

Kind of hard for every team to get a qb named hurts that can squat 500+ pounds, and the same o-line/coaches that he has, only a man that's smart as you could figure something out like this

Honestly don’t know that it would matter. The actual tush push piece of the play seems to be pretty secondary to what the oline and Jalen are doing. Unless you had the qb sneak altogether Philly should still be able to execute.

I don't think banning a play because 1 team is good at it is a good idea. I'd wait for more teams to catch up and start to be successful. The 2 RBs have to really push the QB forward. I've seen teams try it and not do that 1 part.

Plus they don't have to ban the play. Just go back to the old rules where you can't push the ball carrier forward.

Unless they are doing something illegal ....... then it sounds like sour grapes to me. Its no more unstoppable than when Emmitt Smith had 1 or 2 yards to get back in the day.
people had the chance to get big dominant lineman, they chose to get a favre or a bruce smith!

They’re going to ban QB sneaks? Like how does this work?
The push from behind. Like, it's obvious they are running the play, but it's difficult to stop if you set it up right, and have a QB who can squad a gazillion pounds.

I hate that the Eagles are the only team that is good at it, but that doesn’t mean it should be banned. Has anyone been injured on the play? I mean either everybody should get good at it or defenses should get better at stopping it.

There are piles that get pushed forward all the time. How are they going to ban this play and somehow not ban all pile movement?
