Rolando McClain Negotiations Not Good

I would also say the same thing about Sean Lee and his $50 million contract. ;)

I think there is some validity to this but, as others have already pointed out, the problems of the players are of a different nature.

I, for one, am out of my mind excited over the prospect of Brinkley. I share in your sentiments.

It is funny, but less than a year ago we all would have much rather had Brinkley than McClain. Now though... not so much.

Perception can change fast in the NFL.

For what we paid both free agent LB's this year, they really aren't bad signings. But they do not get the excitement flowing, that's for sure.

McClain still might find his way back to Dallas though. A lot of time left.

Only reason he came back to the game was because he was broke. Now he wants to cash out and be worthless again? Nah I'll pass.

While we don't know that, it sure does creep up in the back of your mind, doesn't it?

I like McClain in the middle for Dallas, but he will have to be reasonably priced with incentives or he won't play here. Maybe anywhere.

The good thing is that I know the team won't be foolish enough to give him a lot of guaranteed money. That wouldn't have been the case prior to 2010.

It is nice to have my favorite team to be run correctly.

They got his age wrong but they claim he was worth 16.7 million as of 2014. I have to think most of his losses from the 27-30 from his Raiders contract would be taxes.

Most likely divorce and child support. And during the divorce, he started going back to school to get his degree in Family Financial Planning.

Maybe just maybe he saw what Carter got and wanted what he thought he was worth.

Do you realize how much federal taxes and California taxes would take off the top?

I take morality out of the game, as a fan I don't care what you do off the field. I want to be entertained. I want the best team out there. If they do bad things on there time, it's there problem, not mine. That's why I could care less about Hardy's off the field stuff, or McClain, or whomever.

Yes, but do you also realize how much child support and divorces also take off the top?

Not anywhere close to the taxes. Helps that his marriage was short and in Alabama.(and I believe he came into the marriage already having earned the money)

Rolando is a beast, I like his game but he is crazy to think we are backing up the Brinks truck for him based on 2014.

Once he realizes teams are not going to over pay a risky player, he will come to the table, maybe! ;)

40% for Federal and 14% for Cali State Taxes. That does not include any local or county taxes, nor does it include SS what have you.

I heard word on the street was he actually managed his money adequately and was busy fishing. The house that people say made him broke is the one he bought in Dallas to play in Dallas.

No way he managed his money adequately... not the worthless, ghetto, troublemaker :rolleyes::eek: but I digress.

He'll end up signing with the Cowboys or retiring. Nobody else is going to put up with his mess. He'll finally see that the Cowboys are really the only team that wants him, and Jerry Jones has been better than a father to him.

Come on back, Ro. We'll welcome you with open arms and fewer Benjamins.

When are we releasing Sean Lee whose taking up way more money and losing way more time?

Bruce Carter got money with Tampa and he was effectively benched for three or so games by the Cowboys.

...also, Marinelli once said something about not being concerned about Bruce Carters feelings or having to get him motivated to play. I think I heard Nelli say he liked the player McClain. Had great instincts, good in class, sees the play before it's coming, on and on till the break of dawn.

I'm almost sure it's a money thing and/or Rolando's eccentric ways that is holding up this thing because it's definitely not about him showing up on Sundays.

I think that's what they're doing. Address LB depth right now, anticipate that injuries will likely happen at the position, but at least we won't be scrambling as hard to get players to come in and help. I think that we take a LB in the first three rounds as well.

Very possible... Kid from Miss State looks SOLID

It's like the good old days when we were a good team on the field and financially sound one too.
No longer the running joke in the NFL. It's good to be a Cowboy and bad to be an Eagle:laugh:

Unless you're that former RB who shall go nameless:D.
