Losman is a no. But what exactly is it about Cassel that you see as 'imbecilic'? Imbecilic would be not doing anything to improve. I don't think anyone said that Romo should be replaced, just that he needs to compete to get better. If someone comes in and beats him out for the job, then so be it. I guess the team will have a 60 million dollar backup.

You put Cassel on an average team and he wouldn't look any where as he does now.

Even though I'm not too keen on Romo today, he's light-years ahead of Cassel.

The fact is there will not be any competition for Romo in 2009. I don't see a backup out there who'll both be available and inexpensive enough to be a reasonable challenger to Romo next season. It's going to have to be some young kid who gets drafted this April and he won't be ready to challenge for at least a couple of years.

HOWEVER, that being said, I think there is one QB, who's still in prison who could both become a backup on this team and would at least represent a little pressure to Romo. I'm not big on this person's QB skills myself, but there are others who have been over the years.

Jerry is a salesman. No doubt about it the business side of him sees dollars in probably everything, but the guy wants to win.

You think the circus comes to town now when the Cowboys show up...

Stop your whining and answer the question i asked you.
Start naming solutions and stop crying about your perception of problems.

Who are you talking to? Its not about a perception to a problem. The problem is real. Sorry you don't see it.

I'm talking to you. I copied one of your post earlier in this thread and you have still never answered it. You just keep whining and crying about this problem. What is your point? Offer a solution. name some better alternatives to our QB. You just want to complain about what you think is wrong with our QB but wont name a solution. Man up.

Romo needs to get his act straight, stop making poor decisions, and show up to every game. That's my solution. There has been no whining and crying. This is a message board and last time I checked you aren't its police. Your confrontational attitude is both stupid and unwarranted.

Well sure, it may take some time for the backup to develop, but if we have no decent backup to develop then we are back to square one. I don't think someone will waltz in and win the job. Players get hurt, it helps to have a plan b. Brad Johnson IS NOT plan b.

This thread makes my head hurt, but if you were actually wanting to replace Romo at some point, there is no way in hell you'd be able to do it through free agency. You'd have to draft someone.

Good luck with that.

I've always had a theory that losing causes the death of brain cells. My theory is proven in this very thread.

No, we just need a solid backup QB .. and for Romo to cut down on the mistakes.

Only under certain circumstances.

He won't do anything it takes to win though, regardless of how bad he may want to win. He won't give up GM duties even though there are more qualified people out there. He also actually wants and likes the circus atmosphere and distractions, because he subcribes to the theory that there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Over the last 15 years I've repeatedly heard it thrown out how much Jerry wants to win. But his actions speaker louder than his words - otherwise he'd do everything he could to win. That would include hiring a quality GM, having quality HC's hired who have control of their own staff and it'd include limiting distractions.

Until then, don't tell me how much JJ wants to win, because it's total B.S.

You know I used to actually give a **** what you Romo apologists had to say, but I'll tell you this, after what Romo did to Texas Stadium last night, I don't give a rats *** anymore.

I'm off the Romo bandwagon regardless of what users here have to say or the flames that will result.

We would possibly give a **** what you had to say, if we knew who the **** you were :D

Police? Why because i challenged your dumb overreaction to a loss and you cant back up the words you type?
You talk like you want Romo gone and then when you are challenged to come up with a better solution you cant. Its not just you. It anyone that actually looks at Romo and says we need to replace him. He has a 96 QB rating and a very good winning percentage as a starter. He plays injured and gives his heart to every game and people like you come on a message board and post whining nonsense about replacing him. Would we all like him to play perfect? Sure we would. But at least act like you know the game well enough to recognize our teams problems are not our QB.
