so basically if Romo gets hurt this franchise is dead for several years. I would make picking up blitz the most over-practiced drill in training camp.

Who cares, he's not going to get cut. He will retire if his play is not up to his standard in future years, not ride out the contract and force Dallas to release him.
Redoing Romo's contract makes no sense at this point unless we are going to make a move for somebody like AP.
Freed up 13 million dollars.
I just had a thought... What if Dallas restructured Romo's deal in order to clear up room to sign Adrian Peterson!
Lol no it wasn't . He only counts 3 million against the cap , and the rest is incentive based (won't have to be paid until the seasons over) Hardy isn't even guaranteed a thing . What are you talking about ?
Not true. No one ever provided proof that this was the case. It does say it has to be "paid" as each week goes along, but it doesn't say that there has to be cap room. It actually does say that NLTBE incentives CAN be pushed to the following year. Hardy's per game bonus incentive is classified as NLTBE.
As far as the way I read it, we don't have to have the cap room for Hardy this year. If we do have available cap room when we start paying out the bonuses, those payments would deduct from whatever cap room we have available. If we reach zero cap room available, then whatever overages count against next years cap.
How that's all managed throughout the year is a different story. How much we want to have available throughout the year is the question. More importantly, how much do we want available at the end of the year.
I concede. You both were correct. As obtuse as I was in the thread to pessimist about keeping up, it appears I am the one that needed to "keep up". I owe @Pessimist_cowboy an apology. The below article in the thread was written by Ted Sundquist who, I believe, is the former GM of the Denver Broncos.

Yes, his dead money when he leaves the game is going to be in the trillions.
