I love you for being the classiest QB in the NFL. For putting this team first, despite your own ambitions. For not distracting Dak, or the rest of the team, with your own interests. I love you for all that you have endured while Jerry failed you for your whole career, and not holding a grudge. Never complaining, never blaming anyone else, a stark contrast in this day and age of entitled finger pointing.

What a true champion in heart you are. I love you that you will always be a part of the Dallas Cowboys franchise, championship or not, and I love you that you were a part of our team, our starting QB, for a decade.

Every franchise couldn't be so lucky as to have a true pro like you. I love you that you were my QB and I can't wait to see where your life takes you next. Whether it's back on the field or elsewhere.

Tony Romo. America's QB.

Jason Garrett should've been the guy to announce this and any interview with Tony should've just been the standard thing they do at their locker.

This was over the top and not needed. Romo shouldn't have had to put himself out there like that.

Maybe he wasn't asked to do so?

I disagree. This was necessary. He basically conceded the team to Dak to put to rest any drama. The media would have milked this Dak or Romo drama for the rest of the year. As odd as the press conference may have seemed, it was necessary.
This is EXACTLY it.
Can't imagine why anyone would be so dense not to see it.
The media frenzy is becoming a distraction and would only get worse.

He basically was told we are rolling with Dak no matter what .. Good he gave props to Dak and admitted he earned it .. I felt he made it a bit too dramatic ..

Let's go Dak

I wouldn't say" no matter what".

That's just nonsense of course he can. Doesn't mean he will doesn't mean Tony would either because they're good teams but we're a good team too. Stop hating.

Seattle - no run game
NE - average at best defense

This. Complete speculation. Just like there's no way Dak can beat GB, right? He's not ready!!

Romo is a much better QB today if he's healthy. Period. End of story.

That's not to say I'd make a change either right now. You can't. But Romo is playing chess while Dak is still playing checkers. He'll learn to see it like Romo eventually, but not yet.

The dak anointing has come way too early. I don't trust him yet. This team is where it is because of our offense line and Zeke

It's the O-line, yet with the same O-line we couldn't win with Cassel and Weeden last season. I think that some are looking for Dak to fail just to say that Romo is the better option. I love Romo and have defended him when he takes too much blame for the teams failures. But, I'm a Cowboys fans before anything and the team is winning and that is what matters.

He did it for himself. He could've held a team meeting and addressed his peers not the freaking media and national tv. This is Cabo Tony coming out in full force...
Except it's the media who are in a frenzy--his teammates are fine.
And wth does Cabo--nearly 10 years ago-- have to do with anything.
He's been staying out of media for two months now so he wouldn't be a distraction--the exact opposite of what you are implying.

Too much of this going on early in his career when he took the job from Bledsoe.
I think he's been a lot better since he's settled down but he became too much of a celebrity qb when Parcells told him not to.
