He's not the better player if he can't stay healthy, and the last 2 seasons have shown he can't stay healthy ... we should be thankful that we don't have to wait another decade to find his replacement, I remember the Aikman injuries and the quarterback carousel that began after his retirement from football. I appreciate everything Tony had done for this team, being an undrafted QB to go on and lead America's Team for a decade...impressive...and if there ever was a team built to win with a rookie QB then maybe this is the team...

Everybody is beating Green Bay and Pittsburgh. This isn't the same Packers and Steelers. Both of those coaches are getting fired this year.

The Packers were 3-1 when we beat them and the franchise has been cursed playing at Lambeau. Dak got it done in a tough place to play especially for the Cowboys. The Steelers are tough on the road, the last time Romo faced Big Ben in Pittsburgh he melted down with 4 turnovers. Despite the Steelers record they're a tough team. Dak is the least of my worries with this team.

Love ya, Tony. Your contributions will NEVER be forgotten. He has been, and always will be a true warrior. I hope you get your Super Bowl ring, whether it's with Dallas or somewhere else. That PC was hard to watch.

I have never been prouder of him than I am today. Class all the way. And if this is indeed his last year as a Cowboy, I look forward to his induction into The Ring of Honor.

Pure class act!!!!!
Yes he is and it's a shame that he's not apart of the on field success of the team and what is really irking me at this second as to how many people on social media will be making fun of his team speech he is one of my favorite Cowboys of all time and another thing about Tony is he doesn't have an ego problem something other QBs have and the best part he didn't give the media the satisfaction to create drama cudos to him.

Romo is total class. Even his biggest detractors have to feel at least a little sympathy after hearing him basically give up his role to Dak.

A big reminder why Romo will always be one of my favorite players of all time.

@percyhoward thank you for countlessly schooling the people that doubted our guy, over the years, and being one of his best, most critical advocates. Taking the time that you have -- no doubt -- countless hours.

You routinely showed his naysayers his greatness, much to their befuddlement and chagrin, with stats that they could never counter.

I am so emotional right now. I know it's just a sport, but I love this team, and I loved our franchise QB.

Wow, I have to admit I got a few tears in my eyes.

Romo has been a great player and he is an even better person.

I feel bad for him and hope he has the chance to sign on some where else and play a few more years.

i hope he wins a championship. knowing Romo he will likely ask to get traded or released. Seems to me hes got this "fire" under him to go out and compete one last time. will his body hold up? not sure. but i dont think ive ever pulled so much for any ONE person to win a title more. (outside of dallas) not even Ware.

This is a simply an invalid comparison. Green Bay isn't the team it once was and the Steelers still had Dick Lebeau, one of the greatest defensive coordinators of the game.

Teams wins Super Bowls, not players.

It's actually a valid comparison, because it's on a player by player basis, and isn't inclusive of considering coaching, strength of schedule for all they years the Pats won, nor the cheating of Spygate.

If teams win Super Bowls not players why are you mad Dak is QBing over Romo. You make it seem like it doesn't matter who the QB is because teams win Super Bowls. QB is the leader of the team it's the most vital position in all of sports stop making excuses for Romo he put up nice stats yes but he's responsible for 2 playoff wins and 2 week 17 losses that would have gotten us in the playoffs. Tom Brady is the greatest of all time other than possibly Joe Montana no one other than a biased Romo fan would put the two on the same level. I say this as a New England hater I can't stand them but I just call it like it is.

I hope Tony gets his ring this year. He won't be a part of it, but he deserves one.
