I was saying that yesterday and got the Henson agenda respose ... I guess it kills them that not only does he have the mental aspect of the game down better, but he's got the physical tools to beat him out too ... But here are the facts. Read 'em and weep.

Hate on him all you want. Be in denial about is attributes. Romo is going to beat out Drew Henson for the back up spot this year ... based on the mental aspect of his game, physical attributes and athletic ability ...

Romo belongs in the NFL.

Give it a rest ... they measure using a radar gun ... and they measured it the same way they measured Brett Favres ... unlike almost all of your comparisons, this one is apples to apples.

I watched Calico's vids and I thought Romo clearly had the best game. He got back and set up more. He was more fuild and appeared more confident. His passes got out quickly although I would agree they looked slower than some of Henson's. But my opinion is that Romo had much better field presence and definitely played better including stats. JMO but you can't argue with the fact he moved the team better although the team torpedoed all the QBs with penalties and the OL sucked.

I think Nors has presented his case well and with civility. I don't think he has been shown the same IMO.

And no I don't have an agenda. I'm pulling for them all. I want everyone to do well. I want Parcells to have a near nervous breakdown making decisions on who to cut.

I think we will see the same three another week at least and I see no real reason to bring a vet in right now.

And if Bledsoe plays as poorly next week and Romo continues to play well I suspect you will have the beginning of a media blitz about a QB controversy.

I don't think Parcells thinks Romo can beat Bledsoe but the two are closer to each other than I ever imagined. And Henson played well enough. albeit poorly IMO, to feel secure for now.

Things like this are good for the board so people know what's really going on, instead of just taking the ostrich spectators word for it ...

I did too ... and none of his throws were long throws ... so you really, honestly and truley have nothing to base anything off of about his armstrength other than warm ups and short range passes ...

The point you make about his arm is pointless because he wasn't in any circumstance to ever show how strong his arm is ... he never had to make a long pass ... and don't think I'm stupid enough to believe that they're just firing away in warm ups ...

Having said that ... Henson really didn't show his arm strength either ... they weren't opening up the offense ... it was a ball control, short pass offense they were running ...

Romo had nothing on a 20+ yard skinny post that almost got picked.

Henson had TOO MUCH on a similar route to Smith at the goal line.

Henson had an out route with a DL in his grill where he out threw the coverage.

BZ, please talk out of your mouth and not your butt ... 57 mph is distance = velocity ... that is the physics part of it ...

It's not the highest measured velocity by a QB on a radar gun, but it is a stronger measurment of a QB's arm strength ... If the guy can throw hard, he can throw far ... and a radar gun is the best way to test how fast a guy is throwing ...

Again ... distance = velocity

And measuring speed is science, genius. But given your insight regarding things, I wouldn't expect you to know that ..

Bringing an article about measuring speed regarding the strength and ability regarding a QB's arm is about as scientific as it could possibly get without getting into the the biomechanics of it ... of course we'd like to keep it in relative terms and in the perspective of playing football at the NFL level without getting too analytical ...

But the fact that you say that it is 'far' from science - you even went so far as to bold it - shows me to possibilities ... 1) You're education hasn't gotten very far AT ALL ... or ... 2) You're in so much denial, you'll ignore facts, science and physics as long as nothing threatens your Henson agenda ....

Vary from what? Player to player? Run to run? Day to day? Year to year?

I'm sure it varies a lot ... but a 40 time has nothing to do with Romo's arm strength ...

In Romo's case, I don't think he's had a chance to show his arm strength to the fans simply because of the plays that have been signaled to him (Neither has Henson)... they've been conservative, high percentage plays, which isn't a bad thing ...

But I think that test (radar clocking ball at 57 mph) will translate very well on the field ... Like it or not, Romo makes quicker reads than Henson ... and gets the ball off faster ... arm strength doesn't go away just because you're in a game ... it's an asset to Romo ... and he's got an arm ... you're just in denial about it ...

He showed some "zip" on a medium range pass, but the rest of the balls he threw just had touch on them ... I think you're misinterpereting touch, for having a weak arm ... in fact, I'm sure of it ... this is something you can see a lot better on film ...
