I love how the NFL guys talk about Roy as a difference maker and the fans talk about him as a severe liability. The dichotomy is hilarious.

Well, when you make your judgement based on one year that Roy had to play out of position, with no pass rush, and no right side corner, you could conclude that Roy is a sever liability in coverage. But that would make you an idiot, so......;)

Polamalu is easily the better player.

I've seen Polamalu get ran over by QUARTERBACKS.

Sorry, but Roy is EASILY the better safety.

I'd take Roy, easily. Polamalu's coverage has never impressed me, and he's certainly not better in any other areas. Roy makes more big plays.

I watch nearly every Steeler game and Polamalu is the safety I thought Roy would be. Stats do not tell the whole story. Polamalu definitly affects the outcome of game more so than Roy. I wish we would use Roy like they use Troy but I don't think Roy is athetic enough to do all they ask Polamalu to do.
That's the point right there.. It seems like they bring Polamulu up way more, and the coverage is so much different. Who ever is the defensive coordinator for the Steelers, I want that guy.

What's it going to be then, eh?

That is true, which I still cannot believe that the Cowboys have spent the last two years without a true FS making their best defender play out of position. Any scheme that has Roy Williams in deep coverage as oppose to playing from 15 yards in is flawed!

Roy played his "correct" position this season.

I say Roy.....but, I admit to being a fan and own his autographed jersy so it is a biased opinion....on second thought?

I say Roy!

Gotta go with Troy. He has enough energy and drive for that whole football team. Roy's a soda that's been left out for too long.

Palumalu is the best safety in the NFL because of his hair.
Warm for his form are you?

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Troy cost the Steelers playoff game last year. Gets burnt deep way too often. Does play the ball well, but not a lot better than Roy.

I think Roy is a better all-around player, believe it or not.

I do envy how Troy P is allowed to roam around and make plays all over the field though. He gets to blitz more than Roy. He gets to play like a LB at times. He gets to do a lot of things Roy has never got to. It just kind of makes me jealous, and I wonder what kind of monster Roy would be if he could do those same things.

You'd think Polamalu would be able to make more big plays, then. But he doesn't. If Roy goes three games without making a big play, we have 52 threads calling him a bust. Meanwhile, Polamalu had a stretch of 13 games in which he made big plays in only TWO of them (and created a big play in only one), but a lot of people are calling him the ultimate playmaker.

Ain't it funny, this only comes up as soon as Polamalu makes couple of big plays in Playoffs?

But then we forget the reason we won against Philly or one of the reason that Denver game was close was because of Roy Or he made a great play against Panthers. Heck out of ten games, I can remember at least 5-6 turnovers created or caused by Roy.

Hey, its always grass is greener on other team. Other teams Backups are better than our starters sometimes :D

i think its Roy cuz what some of us forget this year tho roy made sum terrible lapses in coverage he made plays to give us multiple chances to win like in the Giants game he had a int i think and a FF at the one yard line. or in the denver game he has FF against mike A. at like the 10 yard line. eagles game he took it to the house. i think Roy gives u a playmaking ability, but alot of ppl may overlook some of our denfensive players bcuz our offense couldn't put them away or capatilize on certain turnovers which is the difference. no knock on Troy i like him he has alot of heart and is a good player and he's from SC gotta love it but i think roy takes the cake on this one.
